I think this setup is going to stick. Kinda like the 3 bears. Started with a para-di, couldn't get that to dial
in a tone that I liked. Moved to an scr-di, that was closer. I like a barely little bit of dirt, like if you dig in, it's there, but like 98 1/2% clean when not. The scr-di is pretty much clean or total fuzz, no middle ground. I tried the tonehammer, which was perfect, but a bit noisy when you increase the volume past 9 o'clock or so. Man, I really dig that ags. Not too many more to go and I'll have tried them all. I've only had the vtdi for a day, so still working with it. Like it so far, the blend is nice.

I swapped my scrdi for a VT Bass DI as I had good luck with my old VT Bass. But..... now I just use a trio of MXR pedals, a pre (with DI), the OD and the Chorus (with bonus flanger).

This is what I use for worship. I use the reverb setting on the Avalanche Run more than the delay. Everything gets decent use. Lots of Young and Free stuff so the synth and fuzz get used often, and the chorus gets used for the mellow stuff. The octave is my secret ingredient though. I often use it on single notes to slide out of a verse into the chorus. The Transmisser, although weird and abrasive, finds its place on ambient pads.

The Noble pre is one that I really would like to test out. I've yet to see a bad comment about it or see one come up used. I just haven't been able to justify the price (even worse with Canadian $ conversion right now) for "just" playing at church on a regular basis. The FEA compressor spec and review wise seems like such a good product, and Frank seems like such a great guy, I might have to try one out just to support such a great person.

My current board. Moved to a nano from a mini because the PLEX covers the tuner compressor and dirt which allowed me to remove Diamond compressor, the slew of OD pedals I kept trying and my polytune. The Ictineo, meatbox and spark all run through the effects loop of the PLEX.

I decided to pickup an MXR bass fuzz deluxe and a Source Audio Aftershock. My last conversation on here motivated me along with the sound clips I heard on eBay. I hope to use the bass fuzz as a synth effect. Next up is a TCE Sub n Up

Looks like you've got some great stuff! I've always seen people run the Ictineo last (or just before DI). I've never used one, so pardon my ignorance, but what is tonal advantage in running it into your octaver and booster, rather than after?

I want the booster to boost my effected sound which is why it is after the Ictineo. I'm not trying to boost the signal going to the Ictineo. It has plenty of volume on tap on its own. As for why the Ictineo goes into the Meatbox, I'm not really sure. It just sounds good that way. Seems to brighten up the Meatbox allowing for good fingerstyle tones through the Meatbox. The Meatbox can get a bit muddy on its own. All three of those pedals are in the effects loop of the PLEX. Why? It just sounds better that way to me.

Cool! I hope it didn't sound like I was being critical, I'm sure it sounds awesome, I just hadn't seen that before so wanted to hear what it was like. I bet the Ictineo going into the meatbox really clears it up!

The Ictineo is certainly calling my name. I was enticed by the original sub but backed off because of the many problems that happened with the supply side and QC, but now, I might just have to give it a try.

OH, NO....A MEATBOX IN CHURCH....HOW'S THAT EVER GONNA WORK.....

Just kidding, got mine in the mail last week! Haven't used it yet...getting such an amazing tone from my OC-2, and the rest of the band goes bananas (in a good way) when I use it...but it will be fun to experiment!

So, interesting thing happened this Sunday. Arrived with my kids a bit later than usual so opted to just use a tuner into the magnum 44 omitting the noble.

Played a few songs before the service and my Godin sounded a bit lack lustre, flat even. Anyway before the service I had done time to put the Noble back in my chain and zing, there it was! The sound was back.

I've been struggling with the noblefor a while as I don't DI or use in ears in church; it just goes into the magnum and then into an old Hartke 115 aluminium cones cab. Through headphones I struggle to hear a difference with a d without noble but I definitely was missing something without it.

Boss OC-2 > MXR BEF > Woolly Mammoth clone > Ezekiel Clone (seriously versatile) > tce Corona > Zoom MS-70CDR with a switchable volume / wah between the Dirt and chorus. I have one spare power jack and a few training leads. If I need my MXR bass preamp / di...I can drop that off the end. But recently I haven't needed a floor DI, I can take one off the amp. With my next paycheck, I think I'll swap the OC-2 for a COG effects T16 and maybe swap out the Ezekiel for a SA Aftershock. But I'm pretty much done with this board. I can handle most things I need from it.

Korg Pitchblack Custom > Source Audio Aftershock > MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe > EHX MicroQTron > BOSS BF-2B > BOSS GEB-7 (Fromel Modded) > MXR M87 Bass Compressor all powered by a 1Spot daisy.

It I removed the Aguilar Tone Hammer decidedly in favor of my new Carvin BX500's preamp. I might even removed the MXR M87 in favor of using the built in compressor. Undecided about that though. New to the board is the Aftershock, the BFD, the MQT, and the BF-2B.
