It's a great passive box on its own but paired with some mild settings on the VMT it is a killer tube amp type tone. Give a listen it's pretty raw with the go pro mic but decent representation.

It's not a Reddi and it's not a Monique for sure. But it works better for me then a countryman or JDV.Not that I want, or NEED another DI.

Just found this thread so here is my pedal board...
At church we've got a rock band set up... drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitars plus keys when we can. I usually go DI and in-ear so the Tech 21 VTDI is used as an amp sim with a low gain B15 type sound. Sometimes I'll use my MarkBass amp as a monitor.
When I started playing bass in the 80s I experimented with a flanger and compressor followed by a limiter and chorus (the one now on my board). However since about 1990 for about 25 years it was just a Boss TU-2 and a Lehle Switcher. Then a few years ago I thought it would be fun to play about with a few pedals. This is what I've ended up with. The chorus and tremolo are for adding in some texture while the Morley Dual Wah is great for both traditional wah tones and, in its "Funk Wah" mode for more envelope filter sounds (never found a filter pedal I could get to respond quite the way I wanted so this is my solution). With the Soul Food it's great for EDM style songs like Let Praise Awaken, Alive and Let It Be Known.
I've never liked heavy distortion on bass so the latest addition to the board is Thea Bass Soul Food OD. Chosen because of its lower gain structure and the blend control...

Alright guys I need some help in suggestions for starting a very small pedal board. I have a Line 6 g30 wireless that I want to get some type of Di and tuner to complete my pedal bard. What all would I need and what would be good suggestions for what I need?
The Polytune has a small format variant which might be worth looking at for your tuner.
As to a DI I am, of course, biased but I do like the VTDI as a DI/amp&speaker sim. Heard good things about many other too.

This works well for me - and I had a G70 WL on the pedalboard before that was powered by the Noble. I mounted the microThumpinator underneath.
It really depends on your style of music and your budget. I have a Korg Pitchblack Custom tuner pedal and an Aguilar Tone Hammer as my pre/di. If you have the board space, you could start with a Sansamp, I'm a fan or their programmable pre, and it's a widely used preamp/di pedal; the Jesus Culture Bassist uses one all the time. These are all sub $300 pre/DI. If you've got the money, Tonebones, Firefly, and Noble are options fluttering over $300 with Noble pushing $600.
I want basic ans ease of use. I've been using my Genzler 800 head just as a DI out for a big church I help with and it sounds amazing but would like to start a small pedal board with a basic DI to keep me from taking my AMp head for certain gigs.
I run my PB into a Magellan too when I'm at a venue that requires me to bring an amp. Here's a shot with my large pedalboard and the amp - but only with a single cab. This was a rehearsal, not a service.

I'm with you on ease of use. I like to set it and forget it. My Aguilar Tone Hammer has worked very well for me. Treble and bass boost/cut with sweepable mids boost/cut. Has DI with ground lift and a post/pre switch for whether or not to apply the preamp EQ to the DI signal. As an added bonus, it features an Agro switch for an overdriven tone but I don't really care for it. This guy also can run on 18v with two batteries as well as standard 9v tho I'm not sure if it can take an 18v psu. I'm a fan of my Aggie as you can tell.

Nice setup. What pedals are you sporting there?
I have since changed things out... WL is gone as is one Proton. The microThumpinator is under the pedalboard here also.
At this time, and for the foreseeable future I will not be needing to use the big (for me) board. I have 4 envelope filters, so I have my last two Protons in the Classifieds, sold the G70, B3K. Holding on to the Noble, Cali, Octabvre, tuner, Providence Anandime and the microThump.

My new little Nano set up with Dr J Sparrow, Empress Comp and Fairfield BS Modele B will get a run Easter Sunday. I had it connected thru my IEM over the weekend. The saturation from the Modele B is a heap more obvious thru IEM than a powered speaker, so I've had to dial it back a little. I'm really impressed by the Empress too. Brings a fatness and sheen to my tone without being too much.
My vote: Le Bass or GK PLEX. If you want some tube goodness but still modern go for the Le Bass, run in cold fusion mode and never look back. If modern voicing is your thing with several GK voicing options and built in tuner and compression is of interest the PLEX is sweet. I use both.

IMHO the Le Bass and PLEX are where it is at. I'm using the PLEX almost every Sunday now and it has allowed me to eliminate my tuner and Diamond compressor from my board. So now just a Pedaltrain Nano for me. PLEX with Ictineo, Meatbox, and Spark mini in the effects loop of the PLEX.
