Worst band name you have ever heard.

Bands I've played in: Jonas Grumby (the character name of Skipper on Gilligans Island), Pinky Slim (stolen from a line in a tampon commercial..."they're pinky slim!"), Skinbag (stolen from a demo we received trying out drummers, was a song title of theirs).
Boys/dorks will be boys/dorks...

Portuguese boy band in the 90s, they were horrible, and the name was worse:

A4. Always reminds me of paper.

And another gem from the portuguese boy band/girl band craze:

Antilook. A girl band composed by female models that couldn't dance and sure as hell couldn't sing. But they were hot.

The sad part though wasn't the name, but the vocalist. One of the best drummers I've ever heard, had some of the best chops around. But he didn't want to be a drummer, he wanted to be the vocalist so he could be front and center. Only problem was he couldn't sing a note, but nobody could convince of him of that.

I’m gonna defend 2:
UB40 was a reference to the fact that the band were all unemployed and met in the benefit office queue. So it has meaning for them.
The The I always liked because it was like “we could think up a clever name but who cares? Listen to the music”.

Whereas, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) and Spandau Ballet (named after a German WWII machine gun?? The 80s have a lot to answer for.
