Worst band you've ever seen?

Not Worst but most Boring Ever..
Wow, a golden opportunity, John McLaughlin coming to town. I instantly get tickets and
spring for really good seat. All the way to the concert I'm raving about how John played with Miles Davis,
was the guitarist on Bitches Brew, headed up the Mahavishnu Orchestra, jammed with Hendrix,
put out an album with Carlos Santana and overall is a killer guitarist.
Get to the concert and on stage is only an oriental carpet and pillows.
The musicians come out and it's a bunch of East Indian guys and gals carrying tamblas, hand drums, sitars etc. John comes out with an acoustic guitar, they all sit on the floor and they spend the next 2 hours playing Indian music in the same key that droned on and on and on and Zzzzzzzzzzz...we left after one excruciating hour.
I did not know he was touring in support of his new direction and album 'Shakti'
HA!! Thats hilarious, I saw tShakti and it was almost a religious experience for me. Best night of jamming I have ever heard.

But seriously, the guy was amazing and the musicians were top notch. His guitar is unique and the frets are scalloped. I went with the mindset of an electric fusion/jazz concert and ended up in an acoustic, meditative mood event.
At 57 years of age, I have seen ALOT of bands. I still have most of the ticket stubs too.
But the absolute worst show I ever saw was The Grateful Dead in 1971 at Daniel Meyer Coliseum on the campus of Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX.
Too loud, too long, and sounded like one massive groan mixed in with a hum.

I can't recall the names of the worst bands I've seen, but I saw them both open for Needtobreathe on different tours.

That's funny, the first time I saw Needtobreathe was when they opened for Switchfoot, and I thought they were awful. I saw them again a few months later and they were fantastic. Later I found out that they hadn't had time to do a proper sound check for that first show, and they couldn't hear each other.
Danzig. People were throwing stuff and booing and he was threatening the crowd, I think the had played 2 or 3 songs.
My worst has to be Dokken in 1988. They were part of the Monsters of Rock tour. It was shortly before their breakup and apparently Don Dokken and George Lynch had a huge fight right before they went on. Lynch played the whole show standing motionless with his back to the audience. The whole band just sucked.
I wound up taking a nap during their set, which turned out to be fortunate because I needed the energy boost for the Scorpions and Van Halen who came on next.

Went to see Ted Nugent...the opening band was the worst I ever heard, can't even remember their name. The crowd just sat there while they played, no applause after or anything. The lead singer(?) asked what do ya'll want to hear..there was dead silence till some one yelled "THe Next Band" ..they all got mad and walked off the stage.
Meatloaf at a Monsters of Rock festival ( forgotten which year). They had a guitarist for every overdub on the album. Plenty of targets for the bottle throwers. The bikers came to their rescue though when they collected a pile of tyres from the racetrack and set them alight creating a smokescreen which covered the stage.
I don't like the thought of any musicians being hit by bottles even if playing in a terrible show. Smoking them out is far more effective and no one gets hurt
I have to add another band called Whimwise that I saw (some of their gig at least) at Stamford Riverside Festival in 2010. I really tried to like them and was one of the few people left after they cleared the field. Even I gave up in the end though. A warning to anyone thinking of trying to revive pointy headstocks, mullets and self indulgent prog rock. At least no one hung around to throw bottles at them because there were no bikers or tyres at that gig with which to protect them. Mind you they are probably still recovering from the embarrassment. Bless.

Can i change my vote for very worst because I have just had a horrible experience brought back from the bottom of my too painful experiences to remember locker. Like a flashback from some bad acid.
I along with a lot of other people waited for 45 minutes for the Hamsters to soundcheck at The Brasenose Arms. They just had to get the correct amount of early reflections on each members reverb as well as a multitude of fine details too anal for the pa to resolve before treating us to the most mind numbingly dull performance I have ever heard. Funny how they sounded great on the big stage at Cropredy festival the year before. Maybe they couldn't lower themselves to play with any feeling to just a few hundred. I overhard the landlady asking someone why she had paid so much money for such a load of rubbish. That venue is usually a safe bet to see excellent bands but I bet they wont be rebooked lol.

My wife took me to a Nofx show in Toronto 7 years ago. Against Me! (decently entertaining) and another band called Chixdiggit opened.
I have never heard a band so of sync in my life. When the first words out of the singers mouth are "Hey guys, we're the new Chixdiggit because our bassist quit last night in Montreal. So this is (don't remember the name). I literally saw the bassist get out of a cab 10 minutes before they opened the doors.
Funnniest thing is that the bassist and drummer were dead on. Guitarist was wasted out of his tree and the singer had a cold so his voice kept cutting out.
So when Fat Mike and Nofx come out, the first take the opportunity to rip on the opening act, then bring out the last second bassist to help out with their first tune. 18 minutes of The Decline.

Metallica on the Black Album tour in Miami. Just awful. Worst show I've ever been to. They were obviously there to just make noise. To top it off, the drum solo went on FOREVER! Lars, then James and Lars, then just Lars again, then Nicko McBrain and Lars, then Just Lars. Sounded horrible too. Not to mention, it was the Black Album, so we had to hear a bunch of that crap too. Too bad, the 2 tours before that (Monsters of Rock, ...And Justice For All), they were on fire.
Close second - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lollapalooza 92, Miami. They were just acting like d-bags the whole time. I was almost insulted by how bad they were, almost as if they thought they were playing in a storage unit, instead of in front of 50000+ paying fans.

'Chem Lab' back in 93' I believe in Warwick, Rhode Island at Rocky Point Palladeum.
They opened up for 'White Zombie' and 'NudeSwirl'.
'NudeSwirl', I never heard of before were right on..They sounded tight and just like their CD, which I purchased shortly after that week. And of Course, 'White Zombie' was very good too...BUT 'Chem Lab'...was down right awful!

For me it was a local punk/alternative/rock type of a band. Why were they the worst band I ever saw/heard?
They were so un-gody loud (I had plugs in.) that I could not breath!!!!!!!!!!!!
