Worst chain restaurant?

I eat Arby's occasionally. I'll admit, it's not that great. But there's worse.

I think one of the best fast food restaurants (or at least, around me) is Chik-Fil-A. Sure, it gets pricey, but the food is actually quality.

I really prefer eating at local restaurants, especially if I travel. I don't want to drive two hours away just to eat at some place that's down the street from my house!

One thing I miss about Houston was there was this guy on the news that used to report all the health code violations of the local restaurants and the grand prize was the SLIME IN THE ICE MACHINE. Classic. :) Everytime I go into a fast food restaurant I still wonder if there is slime in the ice machine.

Marvin Zindler passed away earlier this year of pancreatic cancer. The little man with the big toupee is missed. I have almost forgiven him for closing the chicken ranch.

Oh lord,I'd forgotten about Hardee's. Whaaaahhh...

One more Mcd's story... the health guys came to the local outlet a few years ago, and had them drain the deep fryer. As the well abused oil left the premises, what should appear but... an oil drenched rat carcass, at the bottom of the fryer. Needless to say, this franchise is still up and flourishing at its original location.

People... please learn how to cook for yourselves. It's really important. Fun, too.

I don't know why Arby's catches so much ****, I love Arby's.

Well, maybe it's because Arby's releases so much ****.

At least that's my experience a short time after eating there.

Going back to my original post, I am just now starting to feel OK after my lunch at On The Border. I'm from a family of chefs, but I'm far from a food snob. My dislike for that restaurant isn't culinary elitism. It's because all three times I've been there in my life it has made me sick. And in general I've got a cast iron stomach. I eat at taco trucks for god's sake.

Taco Bell and Sizzler have both given me the runs in the past, but not the discomfort that I experienced today.

As a side note, the last time I went to Sizzler was when we were visiting my Grandma and that's where she wanted to go. My brother asked me what I was going to have. A little too loudly I said, "Diarrhea".

Why hasn't KFC been mentionned yet ? There used to be one a few miles away from where I live that was ghetto: broken glass in the always empty parking lot, sticky floor 24/7, ugly/unkept people working the counter (so imagine how the people preparing the food looked). A friend of mine used to work there (she was the only non-ugly, loony person there) and she quit after 2 weeks after telling people to wash their hands and getting told to f-off.

I also was a witness to a robbery at that particular place. Good times... NOT!

PS: Most McDonals are squeaky clean compared to that now-closed rathole. And it wasn't in a bad part of town. It was just a run down, never renovated 70's crapshack, like most KFC's I've ever seen.
