Worst Neckdive You've Experienced

What's the absolute worst neckdive you've ever experienced in a bass? Today I went into my local pawn shop just to see what they had and there was this red cort 5 string with a musicman humbucker, big inline headstock. Not sure what model, anyway I don't own a 5 and it was really cheap so I thought maybe i would get it just to mess around with it. Hooked it up to my strap and put it on and the thing sank headfirst to the floor. Like it didn't just creep down, it dropped like a rock. Just surprised me how seemingly unplayable it would be (probably why it ended up in the pawn shop for 75 bucks)
The absolute WORST for me has to be the Epiphone EB-3 they had at my school's music department. Second is my Yamaha BB-425X although that's significantly more manageable.

My Dean Demonator dives a lot.

understand ... I had a
Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass PJ.
the body from horrible Agathis (where no single screw can take a hold).
lightweight - yeah. not the neck.
sold the parts very quick - kept the neck which I am still using.

I don't tend to get neck dive because I'm a big fan of suede straps (Jaycko rules!). Those of you who prefer the seatbelts don't know what you're missing. :)

That said, I built a Warmoth bass last year with a bubinga 51 p-bass neck and steel truss rods. Good gravy. With the suede strap, the neck didn't dive, but the whole bass felt like I was carrying two Les Pauls and a bag of rocks. I swapped the neck out for a Stratosphere MIUSA Fender and now it feels like a normal bass. Sold the neck. Too bad. It was a beautiful piece; just too much coupled with the 51 p-bass body. I can handle the weight, but who'd want to?

Pete

Any Gibson...

I have never experienced neckdive with a bass. The worst guitar neckdive I have ever known was this monster:

Round backs are a bad idea overall.

I much prefer this when I play 12 string:

I have always hated Ovations! Worst neck dive I have is on my LEFTY Gibson SG Standard electric guitar- the HP version, with the robo tune. Serious neck dive! Sounds and looks awesome though! My lefty SG bass on the other hand is awesome, I would not change a thing- great versatile tones and a light instrument without neck dive!

About 10 years ago I had an ‘89 Fender P (Japan) great vibes bass but was a bit neck heavy because of the basswood body maybe, but I played it for years but it just wouldn’t cut through in the mix, no matter what... the actual worst bass I had a neck dive on was an Ibanez x series(explorer style) sounded awesome but was odd to hold(up)
