Ibanez SB7 synthesizer bass pedal. It was an impulse purchase, on closeout at a local guitar center store. As my 3 year old sometimes says, "YUCK!". I could almost, nearly dial in a cool envelope-filtery type sound, but it's never quite right. Seems to cut the bass too, everything sounds thin and trebly, which seems rather contrary for a BASS pedal. Kind of fun to fool around with, but I imagine the sound it makes is extremely annoying to anyone that's not actually playing the bass & SB7 combo. Bowwwm bump bowwm bowwmm...
I had a DOD Flashback Fuzz when I was a guitar player. I was thinking/hoping, given the name and swirly graphics, that this would sound like a 60's fuzz (Fuzz Face) in a modern version. NOPE!!! Harsh, "modern metal" sounding distortion with a special gyrator tone circuit that scoops the mids out heavily.
The Bassballs has this special sound of vocalic filter that somebody hates. I don´t find it bad.
