I believe it may have just been the pedal I bought but it was not user friendly and the tone of my bass when I wasn't using it but had it on my pedal board was bad.How so?
MXR M81 Bass Overdrive
The M89 Overdrive or the M81 Preamp?
I like the tracking and the sound best of the pedals I've tried so far though, so until something new comes along it will have to stay on the board.
Empress Multidrive
My can't-live-without-it guitar dirt. Harder to dial in on bass.
That's the thing with many very versatile pedals; they are really begging for presets so you can actually use the pedal fully and be able to quickly recall nice settings you've found. Without presets the versatility almost becomes an annoying thing, too many knobs and switches and you find yourself wishing for one-trick ponies.
I guess the grass is always greener ...![]()
Yeah it's not a bad pedal at all per se but I had huge expectations for it and I was let down with the selection/dip switch functionality, so much promise in that thing. It's a brilliant idea but only being able to select a couple available options after having to open it up was a bummer.
if you do the volume and variable mids mods on one, they actually can sound great.I absolutely hated my bass big muff. Muddy with every ounce of mids scooped out. And the dry blended switch just watered down the fuzz and sounded icky.
A lot of hate in this thread for the EHX Bassballs
