Worst Relic Ever?

Yeah, I don't get what was supposed to have happened to the bass in the OP. How many old basses are there that look like that? Rescued from a fire? Flood? Zombies with blowtorches? What?

It looks more like zombies with paint scrapers got at it.
The colouring looks ok, but the technique is obviously too...obvious.

The 'reliced' Rick on page 1 however just looks bad and needs a refinish.
And who really wears that much finish off of their headstock?
Jeez, if the bass needs that much tuning it's a piece of junk.

Can somebody please show me the "Rules and Regulation Handbook" of relicing? Try as I may, can't find a thing on it. Seems pretty silly to me to say "my fake is better than your fake".

Do the way real musicians do it...naturally. I wish I had a photo of my friend's 1979 StingRay. It was a disaster...I couldn't tell you what or how he played it to get wear patterns like that. He must've used a die grinder as an ebow.

Wow. Really surprised so many like that thing. Maybe he should swap the word "relic" for "acid splashed" or "nuclear blasted" and it would be more appropriate.

This is what a fake "relic" should look like:

To each their own. People are allowed to like it if they want, and maybe those same people wouldn't like this relic.

And if thats a bass you made, I think your post is a little biased :p
