I don't really need it but I could easily fix it and mod it. If you don't find someone in need I'll fix it, play it for a while and give it to someone in need if I find them.
Just saw this. Let me get in touch with the local high school. Without getting into forbidden territory about the joke that is school funding here, they are almost 100% self financed. They are always doing something to raise money and I'm always slipping them some. I've got a few old amps I'm no longer using I'd be happy to throw one in if they needed/wanted it.
My nephew just had a fire. I believe he lost a stand up bass, and I don't know how he's set for bass guitar. He lives in either Fargo or Moorehead. I will be contacting him tonight, and may pm you with some pertinent information.
That would be a perfect situation for this. It isn't an upright, but it would be something to use until he got back on his feet. Maybe he could then pass it along. Let me know. I'm in Grand Forks so only an hour away.
I think it says a hell of a lot that this offer has stood so long without random takers pretending they need it. The good vibes are strong in this thread.

I can wire it and set It up easily I just do not know anyone in need. Precisely why I haven't taken it. I would love to fix it and give it to someone in need the sheer joy they would have would be well worth it.
I could probably donate it to a local school but they already have quite a few decent basses. Maybe the inner city would be more beneficial I will call around and see if anyone is in need

A band I am working for, Blackwater Railroad Company, will be doing a tour of South Central Alaska while working on a documentary. "Off The Highway" will tell the stories of the people we meet in these rural Alaskan communities.
Part of the project is setting up studios in association with the Alaska Native Professional Association and bringing music to these small villages which tend to see high rates of suicide, due in part to alcoholism and substance abuse.
All that to say, if the bass never gets picked up I'll be glad to pass it along to someone out there.

One of my relatives knows a lot of people in the school district we are talking to some of them to see if they are in need
