I have a potential gig at the club where Dimebag Darrell was killed along with three others that attempted to intervene. Gotta admit...the thought of taking that stage is just a bit spooky.

Alrosa Villa is in Columbus...not my home market. It's about an hour and a half drive from home, I had no idea the place where Dimebag was gunned down was so close really, I guess I never thought much about the location.

I don't really have any major qualms doing the gig but, wow.

No. it's a stage, not a re-enactment of life events with a body count. Think of it this way, you have a hand in helping fade the stigma. It's actually a cool thing. Pretty sure they didn't shut down Ford's theater back in the day and that was Lincoln...

Actually, the last play performed at Ford's Theatre was "Our American Cousin" on April 14, 1865 -- the night that President Lincoln was shot.

I played the Alrosa many times when I lived in Columbus, both before and after the massacre.

It's a great stage that has been graced by many amazing musicians from around the world. Don't get rattled, get up there and have a great time. It's a relatively safe sane environment full of live music lovers and a long tradition of great shows.

For starters.........Cbus has the highest car insurance rates of any city in Ohio. Tell ya anything about the traffic and drivers here?

I was born in Cbus back in 1951 and now here it the 21st Century and I'm living in some of of nightmare, reverse parallel universe Columbus, Ohio. Yes, I'm creeped out. Sorry. No disrespect.

As for the Cbus "high rating" by all those magazines and internet sights.................reality is reality. I live here.

Oh yeah, my house has been hit twice with bullets and I live in a so called "good neighborhood.

That what's called being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not the kind of thing you can much plan for - or afford to spend your life worrying about.

Just play the gig and put the whole DB Darrel tragedy out of your mind. You've got work to do.

Onward!
