Would this creep you out?

Thanks for all the feedback guys... I wanna say that I am not so much worried about the possibility of falling victim to a crime myself. I have played and worked neighborhoods in Cleveland, Akron and Lorain that are likely more dangerous than Sinclair Rd in North Columbus.

It's just the thought of being on the same stage where such a tragic and gruesome incident occurred that just gives me a bit of a mental pause.

Frankly I am looking forward to the gig, it does look like a great venue that hosts lots of regional and even some national acts.

Weed paranoia creeping in slowly?
Many have played the Bataclan in Paris since those terrorist things happened. It was just a mere year ago and a couple of months. Dimebag was 15 years ago or something. Sting re-opened, and then the actual band who was there at the attack, Eagles Of Death Metal, who didn't get the first gig after the events.

Just bring your fretless to that gig, so there's no reason to fret.

For starters.........Cbus has the highest car insurance rates of any city in Ohio. Tell ya anything about the traffic and drivers here?

I was born in Cbus back in 1951 and now here it the 21st Century and I'm living in some of of nightmare, reverse parallel universe Columbus, Ohio. Yes, I'm creeped out. Sorry. No disrespect.

As for the Cbus "high rating" by all those magazines and internet sights.................reality is reality. I live here.

Oh yeah, my house has been hit twice with bullets and I live in a so called "good neighborhood.

I feel you, BassD! Our neighborhoods, as well as the rest of the world, are much different places than they were when we were younger... obvious, I know, but sad, nonetheless.

But I wouldn't doubt on it, but I would be creeped playing almost on any stage in the US. The other thread

Anyone ever feared for their safety on a gig?

Where it was told by some old geezer that knew Ronnie Hawkins or some of the Band members used to tell stories like:

"Well there was a bow you had to pass through, that could detect metal, at the entrance, and if you didn't have a piece with you, you had to borrow one from the venue".
They didn't let anyone in, that DIDN'T beep in the bow...

Being from Dallas (Pantera's home town) I say no big deal. We do a Ride for Dime charity event every year to raise money for charity and celebrate Darrell's life not mourn his death.
I've seen his brother "Vinny Paul" around and he has moved on with his life. We should follow suit. Play the show. have fun. and remember to respect the legend who's life was cut short at that very place.
All that being said I wouldn't make any reference to Dime during the show. May piss off the venue.

Wouldn't bother me at all, most likely. About 20 years ago, I worked at a software company that occupied the building that was formerly a dental office. The dentist's wife had taken out a ton of insurance on him, and had him murdered there with a shotgun about six years prior, right in front of what became my office door. Of course, we felt badly for the dentist, but otherwise it wasn't anything anyone worried about. People die under awful circumstances all the time, but I don't let it cast a pall over things, so to speak.

Wouldn't creep me out, but it sure would bum me out. Like it still does to this day. Dime was a talented, happy, fan loving, fun loving guy. Glad I got to see him the many times I did. He would always come out to the stage edge after a show, sign autographs, give out picks, shake hands. Such a tragedy to lose him in such a terrible violent way. For no reason, other than one man's mental illness.
