Would You Buy This Guitar Display Cabinet?

You asked:

NOT A Guitar Display Case.jpg

I wouldn't buy it as a guitar/bass display unit. It might be okay as a piece of bedroom furniture.

$200

It's a homemade piece that requires 2 people to move it, must be bolted to the wall, holds 5 guitars/basses and the seller wants $1900 for it. I doubt he'll get that, if it even sells at all. Usually display cabinets have doors to protect the instruments from dust and keep them humidified. Might as well just buy a multi-guitar stand.

Here's the link to the ad (anyone know how to make a screen shot in case it gets pulled?)

Ya know ... a true "Guitar/Bass Display" case would be a very interesting get/build, but I think each of us might have our own ideas as to what we want out of.

I used to keep Iguanas and Salt Water tropical fish. Demanding is exactly what that is, but I could "conquer" the needs of proper humidity, etc. I've been there and done that.

All that said, my display case would have to be two-tiered, glass on three sides, climate controllable, ... well, you get the point. Since I can't build it myself, I'll never have a display case. My studio with some hangers/stands will have to suffice.

Even if you were in love with it, those are 6 string guitars displayed on it. Full scale basses might be too long to display. I think there are better options out there. I keep my guitars on wall hangers in my home office so they are easily accessible to play (otherwise I'd keep them in cases to keep the dust off). As one of the other posts mentioned, for a display case you would want something enclosed. Something like a tall china cabinet without shelves.

Good luck on it...
