sell an Ampeg 410HLF to pay for a Schroeder 21012?

I have an Ampeg SVT-CL that I am playing through a HLF. It sounds good, but a little muddy in the low end and a little boomy. I know that a Berg NV($900+) or a Sadosky SA410($1000) would be ideal, but very pricey. I know that there are those that use their Schroeder 410's with a tube head and enjoy it. What do you guys think about a 21012 non-light.

I think that the cab would be an upgrade over my HLF and I can get it for about the same price as I can sell my 410 for. I was just wondering how you guys think it would sound?

Considering how much I dislike Ampeg v. how much I love Schroeder, I say go for it.

That combination would be CRAZY loud.

Oh and btw, ampeg rules so keep tinkering and you will find your sound.

I want to keep the Ampeg sound, but with a different cabinet. The HLF is pretty boomy. I'm hoping that the Schroeder will give me plenty of punch with the 10's and more clarity in the low end with the 12. Anybody have experience with a 21012 with a tube head?

I don't know if the Shroeder's the answer... but I'd say yeah, I'd sell the SVT-410HLF to find a better match for a tube head for sure.

This is heating up on my end. I have someone that wants to look at my HLF and will give me enough to buy the Schroeder. Schroeder useres are you out there?

I think you would probabally find the Schroeders sound a bit better than the HLF. They do have that low mid bump like the 810, but they also have a bigger bottom end and get much better highs when you have the tweeter on. I think that they are just better than most of the Ampeg cabs in general.
