Dang, I just bought one too. I use a TC 250w head as my main amp. The 200 will be a perfect backup. My current backup is a Peavey tour 450 head. this is about 30 lbs lighter!! But the tour 450 rocks,,,thought I could sell the peavey, I pail $110 for it. May keep it too,,,,,

I've been waiting on Sweetwater to replace my BAM200 head after my first one failed. They're on back order. Today, I cannot even find the BAM200 on Sweetwater's website. I've contacted them about that.

Anyway, surfing around looking for them and this is what I find on Amazon.

Yeah, I think I bought the LAST one from Sweetwater! That baby is going back as soon as it gets here! I just ordered from Amazon! Major price difference - $169 vs $99! Thanks for the heads up!

Can you work out a deal to chip in a couple extra bucks for a BH250? They still have those in stock.

Yeah - or the Behringer BXD300H at $219. Gee - Now the TC BH250 and the BQ500 are both on Sweetwater for $279. All have the AUX input, which is lacking on the BAM200

Crate Powerblock was having really bad infant mortality and poof $99 blowout then gone. Seems like it may be something like this? Dunno. But either way, it would be hard to pass up if my amp pile wasn't so high already.

This might work as a suitable replacement for my "Thomann screwed me" Warwick Gnome purchase from a year ago. However, I'm really eyeing the Trace Elliot Elf more so than this one...but for that price....hmmmm....

I had both the elf and bam at one point and actually preferred the bam. Elf was too colored for me

I bought one to use as a backup for gigs. I plugged it into a 1x12 for quiet practice in my kitchen and after about 30 minutes of low volume playing I started smelling burning electronics coming from it. I sent it back and I'm going to get the Elf as my backup instead, it's more money but I'll grab one the next time I get a 15% off coupon somewhere.

If it were just a few products, I'd understand that...

But this goes across product genres, and across multiple brands, including:

1) Almost literally everything by TC Electronic, including bass amps, bass cabs, effects pedals... pretty much everything.

2) Almost all Bugera products, including guitar amps, bass amps, and accessories

3) A majority of Behringer products, including bass amps, pro audio equipment, power amps, etc.

This is WAY more than just a lineup refresh...

It appears that a lot of stuff on Amazon via the TC store is "currently unavailable". You may be on to something.

There are times when something that look likes a great deal really is. My thoughts on the BAM 200 were that (at least for me) they have limits. Any thing above a moderate Trio volume and they're working
at or above their capacity. Just my take though.

Based on the mortality thread, anyone who is buying one should plan on playing through it for a couple of hours as soon as they get it, to see if it is defective.

I used mine for maybe 6 weeks with no cab, just using the headphone out

From what I was able to find it sounds like if they fail it's within a few hours of use, which seems wild. Amazon makes it so easy to return stuff it's worth the risk for a cheap backup amp IMO. I wouldn't trust it as my main amp for a gig.

It's not far from what I would expect to pay for just a decent DI.

So glad I held onto that BAM200… looks like my retirement is in the bag.
