As a follow up, I’ve had the bass at least three years now, and while I don’t play it all the time, I still consider it a definite keeper.
It’s a nice solid bass, lightweight, well built, and fun to play. It sounds like a p bass should.
The neck is stable, and frets still in great shape. I did have the nut break on the e string, but I had a standard flat bottom p bass nut in my tool box, and it fit the slot. I had to sand down the edges to fit the bass, and I shaped the nut a little. Setting string clearance with my nut files was no different than any nut job I’ve done.
Want a cheap rock bass for club work you aren’t worried about dinging up, or want a headstock that isn’t Fender? This will fit the bill. The tuners and nut are cheap, but everything else is quality.
