Xsonics Club

Well after putting a few gigs on my 2125cf , the speakers have opened up and this cab is seriously a freaking beast. I am able to run my head flat. And I typically place the cab vertically , its truly a killer . There is no looking back for me . Xsonics is where it's at.

So what is the tone of the 3010ho's? Does this cab have a more aggressive tone as 210's go? The only 210 I have used is the Avatar B210, and I still use it at one of the rehearsal locations - it is okay I guess, nothing to write home about. The Xsonics at 30lbs sounds interesting to me, who has used one?

I am looking forward to using my 2155 in it's first outdoor show in a week. I am very eager to hear it without the constriction of walls and really opening it up a bit. No doubt it will do great.

I just got back from my first outdoor show with my 212CF. It killed it! The 212CF really throws its sound off so you can hear it. The lows sounded great and the upgraded tweeter really fits my aggressive style of playing. I'm loving going to gigs with this little 42 lb wonder and having plenty of get up and go. It fits in a single side back seat of my Volkwagen Golf with my bass gigbag in front if it on the floor loaded with my Markbass LMT800 and all cabling. What a remarkable time to be a gigging bass player. Really nice cab I think I'll be gigging for many years to come. When I'm old and grey this will certainly still be in my arsenal. The 3012HO drivers take a beating and keep on kicken.

I have another hard gig for it this weekend in a typically busy bar that really soaks up bass. I'll report back on how it goes but at this point. I'm sure it'll do what it does best and that's kick ass!

Great to know it will work outside too . My bands next gig is next month at a big local motorcycle rally we do every year and we always play on a big stage . I've only used my 212cf at practice but can tell it should kick pretty hard , I'm stoked . Glad it works for you , I'm 61 and the cab is very easy to move around . This is what it looks like at practice .

Did you run the cab on side or end for the outdoor show? Glad to hear it worked well for you. I am considering getting the upgraded tweet just so I have it available if I ever want it, can always pad back otherwise.

Great practice space. How does that Ampeg pre sound in the Xsonics?

On gigs I prefer the sound on its side width wise. I run it vertically in my small jam room to reduce close proximity bass wall reflections and get it to project into the room better. In that small space it seems like everyone is close to a wall and the low end can be overly enhanced just because of the room acoustics. Vertically seems to help mitigate that problem.

The SVP-CL pre sounds great with the cab . I had a fEarful 15/6/1 before this cab and loved it too but the 212cf has some natural growl to it that works better to my ears with the Ampeg pre than the fEarful almost like they were made for each other . Since I took this picture I have put my cab on it's side and it does seem fatter that way , I like it like that now .

I really do like the growl with these cabs. I had an SVP-CL years ago, I should have kept it but i think at the time I did not have a cab that worked well with it. For a long time I would change basses, amps etc and should have looked at cabs more. Live and learn :rollno:

it looks like we have several musical genres covered now with the Xsonics. Funk, Blues, Country, Classic Rock and Nicks 50's rock as well? Any other genres happening out there with Xsonics cabs?
