The Uber 115 is a great cab from a great company.. . But That company is now gone .. Fender chewed them up and swallowed a great bass amp company .. Genz had an owner and design crew that were Creme De La Creme. Nothing like it seen before.

.. I have never owned a TL606.. But i have looked at spec sheets. Im guessing the Xsonics 1155TF is about the same size... but it has a wider freq range and really nice dispersion..
I have been using my Fender TB1200 amp on it last week. Very Tubey.... This week i want try my lightweight amps my SM9.2, the Streamliner 900, and a GK MBF800...
Then some mesa heads.. Im thinking that the Mesa Mpulse 600 will sound great on this cab.. I have an OLD SVT that i want to try.. Just too lazy to carry it..

My Xsonics 1155tf is a 4Ω cab so i can get all the power that any of my amp selection will put out... Will be fun, Pics to come..
I am home and doing local gigs the next few weeks so that give me the opportunity to try all my stuff out... Not so when im on the road and need my tome to sound consistent from gig to gig.. So i stick with one amp

Well, the whole "sealed versus ported thing" is going to be the biggest factor, here, and that's been discussed in greater depth in other threads. These two cabs do have a good bit in common, though, as each is nicely thick in the low mids, and punch really hard all throughout the midrange. Both have solid lows (but again, the response is notably different down low due to the sealed/ported thing). The NV115 goes a tad higher than the NV215, but not as high as the 1155's tweet, so it'll have more sparkle and air up top.

Thanks. I did a little reading on the NV115 thread and it appears that volume could be an issue with the NV. Some people have been using two of them. I'm thinking the 1155 would be able to handle more gigs as a single cab than the NV115. I'm guessing the tone would be similar (except for the low/high range) and especially with the vintage switch on the 1155.

Yes, as a result of the sealed vs ported thing, you will get more volume out of the 1155.

You know what is really weird???.. I am not getting my email updates to this thread as i do with all the other threads that i get nightly updates ..
Each night at around MIDNIGHT TB sends me dozens of emails to any of the threads that i am subscribed to.. Im pretty sure that i am subscribed to this one!!!
BUT I NEVER get my updates to this.. Anyone else have the same issue?
They must have a problem with their database again.. Hope some genius can figure it out.. Because the TB search feature is just so good that Google should adopt its filtering abilities:)

I get instant updates and they've been working. Just unsubscribe and subscribe again and make sure you select the email notifications.

I wouldn't touch a used Xsonics product with a 10 ft pole, especially a CF cab unless I was a capable carpenter.

Nick told me there was a problem with some of these cabs where the the baffle opposite the magnet of the speaker mounted inside would vibrate like a reed. Mine does as well to a certain degree. I've only heard it in my quiet studio when I really crank the cab. I've never been bothered by it as I never use it in the studio and at the gig levels I play at with my 212CF it's a non-issue. The entire bar is rumbling so much from that little light cab the levels of vibration I experience are masked. I truly love the sound and form factor of the 212CF in a live setting.

Nevertheless, I emailed and texted Nick about it and he quickly replied and told me he has made ribs to help support that panel for some his other customers who needed it to be dead silent. He offered to do the repair to my cab. Because I'm up in Canada, in the interest of saving costly shipping for both of us I said I'd be happy to install them myself if he could just ship the support ribs up to me. He was happy with that and said he'd send them out the next week. That was 6 months ago and quite a few emails and texts have gone unanswered.

We've seen things like this on TB before where Customer Service is excellent in the infancy of a company when it's a priority to entice new customers but ultimately goes to the wayside once the small company expands and their product reputation is secured. I think the excellent design and happy customer feedback of the TF cabs coupled with Bass Gears article really helped Nick to expand his orders to the point that CS can't keep the initial level he was maintaining in the beginning.

At this point I don't think I'd recommend anyone buy a used Xsonics product because it may be hard to get service. Perhaps if you're a new customer Xsonics might put some effort into making sure you're pleased but I can't say for sure. At this point I've done all I can, as politely as possible to give Xsonics the chance to correct the issue with my cab. The rattle may be a minor issue in my eyes due to the way I use my cab but I still expect a manufacturer to do what they say when they say something.

Perhaps I'm not the only one with this kind of Xsonics experience and that could be the reason for the low resale value of Xsonics cabs on ebay.
