Y’all are gonna hate this... NBD

I got way bored a couple nights ago, so I borrowed a neck, a bridge, and some strap buttons from my Jaguar, an old 2x6 I used to test spray paints for a different project, a footswitch cover, a Strat knob, and a toilet seat to make... the Fender Poo Bass.

I know it's been done before, but whatever. The setup is actually not bad and it holds tune, but I messed up the neck trajectory so the strings are a little off center. Plays fine though, as long as I don't think too hard about going over the 12th fret. The pickup is a Duncan 1/4lb SCPB so it sounds absolutely fantastic, of course.
Play the S#!t out of it, man!

The MM Bongo starter kit.

There was once a gentleman living in these parts (Western Washington State) by the name of Harvey Thomas-- his brother was Floyd Thomas of the old Evergreen Drifters, first local band with their own regular local TV slot. (Floyd also ran a construction outfit where the Ventures guys first met, but that's another story.) Harvey was a mad cowboy genius when it came to guitarmaking-- he did toilet-seat lids, bed pans, Maltese crosses (my favorites!), and of course the carved-mahogany Hawaiian-maiden double- and triple-necks (I'll leave it to your imagination as to where the control knobs were)-- anything he could think up he'd build a guitar around. He was quite a character and we all learned a great deal from him. He took apart a Farfisa compact organ and rigged the keyboard contacts under the frets, so when he played a note or chord it played on both the guitar and organ at once-- he called it a "Guitorgan" and folks came from far around to watch him play it. My best pal at the time was married to one of Floyd's daughters (hi, Sandi) so we got to spend a fair amount of time at his place. I was unhealthily fascinated by the toilet-seat guitars, but to this point forty years on I still haven't built one--

Next time you get that bored:

It looks like a musicman prototype.
