Hmm... The switch on mine made a noticeable difference. One position was quite a bit hotter & thicker than the other.
Perhaps its been modded to only give one wiring option if the previous owner didn't use the other? Just a thought.

I went back and tried it again. It is more effective than I had realized. Just learning the quirks and character of the new instrument.

It's his signature instrument (the Dano, not the Hondo) so I did it in his honor.

I've heard that. It's definitely got a very high standard of construction and finish. I have not disassembled for clues because it's no nicely put together that I don't want to mess something up.

I had one, played the snot out of it, it was that good. The neck was pretty beefy if I remember correctly. My guitarist talked me out of it about 12 years ago, he still has it and loves it!

Thanks. I'd call it a chunky D-profile neck. A little flatter than a C, but not as flat as a few of the newer instruments I own.
