Yep, same here. I think it's so that you can run one or both p/ups in mono mode without losing/gaining volume. ie, soloed p is same volume as both p/ups.
Although i do find both p/ups is slightly quieter, although this may be an illusion and it's really reduced highs.
I tend to use just the p p/up most of the time, and dial in a bit of the woofer when I need a deeper, mellower sound. I don't run the woofer flat out though, i dial it back just till I hear the P kick in.
Has anyone else noticed that the price of new Attitudes has rocketed up in the past year or so?
I got mine just over a year ago. RRP at the time was £1299, but I got mine for £899 (bargain) from Thomann in Germany, plus free shipping. GAK in the UK were doing the same price but had no stock for at least 6 months.
I was looking at prices this week to adjust my insurance policy (new for old, so need to check value each year). Thomann now selling them at £1678, and GAK selling them at £1599. God only know what the RRP is.
I know that Yamaha revised the design in the past year, but surely nothing to bump up the cost that much. Either that, or the exchange rate from Japan is awful at the moment and is pushing the prices up.
But wow. If you're in the market for buying a new one at the moment. Don't! Wait until the recession recovers and look again.

Quesion. Hey all. I have the chance to buy one of the cheaper ATT-SPL basses for $140. Should I snag it? Is it worth it for the most part? I like these basses and could use a backup to my Sadowsky.

Unfortunately I only have experience with the LTD II, which is super nice, but I have never tried the model you are looking at.

I have honestly never played one of those models before but for the ducket$, I would go for it.
The main thing is play it if ya like it then buy it. I know most of the Attitude range were ok some of the range were different variations of the Sheehan model then they took all the way down to "Squier" type model. The pic has the black inlays and the knobs are up on the pickguard so you are looking at a middle of the road attitude so it will probably be good and for the price you can't beat it.
Hi! I have just a couple of questions for you: I have a MIM Fender P'50, is the neck of the Attitude thinner, same size or thicker than the Fender's one?
Question 2: Has anyone of you A/B compared this configuration: Mono output, both pickups full volume VS Stereo, both pickups? Is there any tone difference? Or, if nobody has done that, there should be any difference?

I have the Attitude X Anniversary model, there were only 300 made this one is number 058 of 300 (the PURPLE one). Great bass, very punchy and very light it is fantastic.
I had a n Attituted LTDII that weighd a ton and had aneck that was similar to a baseball bat...did not care for that bass one bit, this X on the other hand...it is amazing.

I can try to answer some of your questions.
Dont have any expirience with the 50' style, but i believe its a little ticker than the standard p bass. The neck on the attitude is ticker that your standard p bass, and a lot rounder imo. But you get used to it quite fast, atleast I did. Q2: i use mine in mono (about 90% P-pickup and 10% woofer, in other words just a little of the woofer). Ive tried it in stereo with my guitarists marshall
cool and it sounded very good, with highs to the guitaramp and the woofer signal to my bass amp. Real bassy with wild overdrive on top, whats not do dig?
