Hi everybody,

I even wrote to Billy, once I modded the Special (Lake Placid Blue "live in San Francisco" finish) and bought the very first REAL Attitude Limited II (the Lava Red "bak to Budokan" finish)

Yamaha Attitude limited II lava red & black
(both tuned a whole step down)

Yamaha Attitude Special w/DiMarzio WillPower woofer & split Hipshot BT7 bass extender

(Yamaha BB414 w/DiMarzio ModelP Hipshot BT7 bass extender)
(the last one, being more a mixed tribute to Michael Anthony)

these are the reasons why I wouldn't have no basses, if I don't have Yamaha Attitude!

Cheers,
Wallace

The actual knobs are exactly the same for all three controls. The are easily adjusted with set screw on the side.

As for the actual pots, the 2 push/pull pots may be a little taller.

got it! mine was actually bought on an as-is basis, it seems one of the knobs were taller (not just because of the pots), though they seem to have the same kind of grooves and everything.

This thread is a few years old so I had to post my new treasure on it. This 1998 LTD-II bass, which I got for a song, had duct tape residue all over it, sticker remnants, etc. The neck was dirty and it had rusty strings on it. The action is WAY too high and the control knobs are missing but the neck looks and feels great. I got all the gunk off of the body, neck, frets and lifted the pickguard and cleaned everywhere and took the tuning keys off and polished everything. I'll give it a setup and get control knobs over the weekend and it will be officially back to life.

This is the 3rd Attitude LTD that I've owned. My first was a blue LTD-1, the second in red and I only sold them because I needed money.

The fingerboard is regular maple but the neck and headstock is completely flamed from top to bottom and all the way through. I know these pics aren't the best. Is the flame typical on these LTD-II's? I see a ton of front shots but not many of the necks/headstocks.

ROCK ON!!! And do so with Attitude!

I forgot to mention that the neck profile is thicker on the E and A strings (thickest behind the A) side than it is on the D and G side from the nut to about the 7th fret where it becomes more even and centered. Its subtle and it evens out very nicely but it's there. Anyone else have a neck with a similar profile? It does not seem like the neck was altered at all and from the story I got behind the bass, no one would have had this done either. But it's kinda nice! Really lean into the lower notes and a bit thinner on the upper register for dexterity.

Hi Guys,

I just joined the Attitude club with the acquisition of a Limited II. I honestly didn't think I'd like the bass as much as I do, but it's very addictive.

I made a few tweaks to mine. First, I moved the shunt cap and tone control past the volume pot for the neck pickup so that it works on the middle pickups in mono mode. That P pickup is just to wild for me without some tone control.

I also switched the wiring for the stereo/mono switch so that the bass is in mono with the knob pressed in.

My bass has the black pickup cover on the neck pickup, and I want to change it to the pearloid cover to match the pick guard. Anyone know where I can get one? Willing to trade a black one for the white one?

Thanks all.

Michael
