Hey Mod, I checked out some of your posts and noticed you own a pearce also. I have also owned both and one thing i can say is the Ampeg is nothing like that Pearce. I wasnt that impressed with it. As a standalone preamp, it sounded fine, but not as a Pearce replacement. Just ask Billy Sheehan

Yeah, I love the Pearce! I'm thinking of maybe buying another one "just in case". I had wanted to try the Ampeg for a while but hadn't run into one until now. I'll see how it goes.

I broke out my ATT-LTD II last night for the first time in a long time (6+ months easily). I was never very happy with the sound of it, although I love everything else about it so i could never get rid of it.

I plugged in to my SVP-CL and just went to town. I was very happy with it! Everyone in the band agreed that it sounded pretty good...and we were all on the same page with it not sounding as good as my other basses. Even though I'm primarily a 5 string player, I'll be breaking it out much more often now.

I figured if I couldn't get a sound I was happy with last night that I would possibly try a pickup swap. Even though most people love em, I wasn't sure if that was my issue.

I would like to know also. I have a seafoam green one and tried checking the serial number with no luck.

I called the Yamaha customer support, gave them the serial # info, and within an hour, they emailed me the month, day, and year of production. Pretty cool...

is that a DiMarzio X2N-B in the neck position? also, how does it sound compared to the old Model 1 humbucker in the 1st and 2nd gen Attitude? any chance of sound clips?

nope, that's a yamaha pickup specially designed just for this bass. I don't know how to describe the sound, it's more powerfull, with a much wider range of low and mid frequencies compared the previous Dimarzio willpower and model one from my humble point of view It'll see if I can get a sound clip or video to show it

if you can, try to get a direct recording of it. either right into a DI box, or plugged right into a mixing board if you have recording material at your house or at your disposal.
