Hey everyone!
Just got a brand new Yamaha Attitude, this thing kills! Really liking the extra punch that the neck pick up gives you and enjoying playing around with the different tones you can get from the dual outputs. Initially I thought I could buy one of these and just play it at home but there's no way this can stay inside.
I'm really happy with the bass but I've noticed one or two things that make me wonder if I got a return or something dodgy happened at the shop I bought it from, wanted a second opinion from you all. I've attached two pictures -- one is of what appears to be some slightly dodgy sanding near the neck pocket. It's mostly a cosmetic thing but that area of the neck does feel noticeably rougher than the rest. Second thing is there's a paint chip near the neck pocket, which leads me to believe the neck has come on and off somewhat indelicately.
Anyway, I know that these are usually made to the highest standard so just wanted to double check on these. They're both relatively minor and I'm loving the bass -- it sounds and feels great.

Yamaha basses, all the way down to the lowly BB300, have always been damn near perfect because Yamaha manufacturing and QC are really consistent.
I would ask for a perfect one, for the premium price that is added to that bass because it is a signature model bass, it should be perfect.

Personally l'd just smooth out the rough spot myself and the paint chip wouldn't bother me but that's me YMMV...
Are you blending the pickups through one output or running two separate signals?
How would you smooth out the spot? Scotch-brite? I'm not sure if it bothers me yet, but I've emailed my rep at the store I bought it from because I think I should at least get a B-stock price.
I'm running two signals in to a blend. P pickup goes through the BIlly Sheehan Deluxe EBS pedal / a Dark Glass vintage microtube and an EBS chorus, humbucker is just clean. No compression in the mix just yet. Still experimenting! I'm aware that I can run both pups in to the EBS pedal but it sounds better to my ears to use the blend after.

Does it have two output jacks to split the pickups into two amps?
What the does the back of it look like?
This is a bass that did not have the neck humbucker, and it was added after.
Not exactly an Attitude Ltd. bass, but I would bet the neck is great, and it sounds great too.
But I would not pay an Attitude price for it.
How much are they asking? $600-$700?
Do a search for Yamaha Attitude and I think you will find several of these for around that price.
Thanks for the response. The back plate looks like a normal silver square, no markings. They are asking $600 but just found a couple on ebay going for about the same so I might not jump on it quite yet.

Looks like someone did a neck swap for the blue one since it has the pink inlays....I think I have seen this one before...how does it roll?
You are correct on the neck.
It's a great sounding bass, the p pickup in this one sounds particularly huge.
Played my LTD-II at a gig last night. Not only was it my first gig in many months (private party w/ limited attendance), but it was my first time gigging with that bass in years! Why haven’t I been playing this bass the whole time? It sounded gigantic, and more versatile than I remember with the neck and middle pickups.

Does anybody know if the woofer pickup on the LTD-II is adjustable to get it closer to the strings? I opened it up once years ago, but I seem to think it was screwed down directly to the body.
I seem to lose a bit of volume when I run both pickups together, and I’ve already lowered the P pickup a lot from the way it shipped from the factory. Wondering if raising the neck pickup a bit might help. I know the obvious answer is to start using two amps at gigs.
