Yamaha Attitude Club

I like your Attitude Special, and you've done all the things needed to make it a proper Attitude Bass, nice job.
I also like the color.
Yes, your bridge looks like what I need for a direct drop in replacement, I don't think they are available though.
I will eventually stop whining and pull the bridge, fill the mounting holes, buy a Hipshot Kickass Bridge, and mount it.
The kickass is the favorite bridge for my modster of choice
Yet not mine
If you like badass, there's the "omega bass", in both versions of the ex quann "II" (no groove or multi grooves)... or, in my case, better would be the gotoh 404j. Both bridges align 5 bolts like on fender's stock bridges, thus requirin' to fill the four yamaha holes to drill the five solid spaces around'em

Now you can think about... hipshot kickass/parts planet omega bass/gotoh 404j

Hope this helps
Cheers,
Wallace

Been playing my rickenbacker a lot lately. Using the Rick-o-sound setup. Love it.

Played my Yamaha for the first time in a while and wow. It’s still number one!

My brother told me I better never sell the Yamaha and I could sell everything else but the Yamaha stays  I totally agree.

I want a fretless one.

Was anyone in this club at Winter NAMM? They had the new sunburst Attitude Bass on display, apparently, but Yamaha has been hush on the details(at least online). At first it seemed like it was just going to be a one off special edition but now that Billy is also getting a new DiMarzio signature pickup, I'm wondering if it's actually an early version of a Yamaha Attitude IV or something. Did anyone get a chance to play it?

I really like the sunburst Attitude, never cared the previous colors, other than the basic black.
I like the changes they made to the woofer pickup/cover.
The old Fender ashtray bridge cover is great too.
This version reminds me of a "sleeper" Muscle Car where it looks normal but it got a massive engine hidden under the hood.

I didn't get to NAMM but I have played that bass....it is really killer....I am looking at possibly getting one when they are ready for sale.

@factorplayer and anyone else that is interested in a different pickguard for their Attitude LTD III , we now have a vendor with a template.

I recently sent my original guard to Chandler Music (AKA Pickguard Planet) to have a copy made and they now have a template on hand so they can make additional copies. This is the second guard I've ordered through Chandler and I've been very pleased with the product and their customer service.

The part number is PG 5025 with your choice of color of course Yamaha Bass Pickguards & Pickguards For Other Guitar Models | Pickguard Planet You can also email them if you have any questions [email protected]

I'm not on facebook so if someone can pass this along to the Attitude group there that would be great.

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks @StevieMac , it turns out I arranged to send mine to Tony at Pickguardian this week! I did indeed notice the update on Chandler music too.

However I'm not seeing how to remove the control knobs to get the original off - any tips?

The knobs pull off, not easily but they do pull straight off. It's been a while but I think I slid a flat head screwdriver underneath and slowly rocked it back and forth until the knob started to move. Hope that helps.

Glad you've got a new guard in progress already. Posting pictures is mandatory of course.
