Man, I have been contemplating my GAS for the Attitude Ltd basses, but seeing that in Lava Red really pushes it over the top. I...must...have... :bawl:

With my luck, by the time I save up the cash for one, it will no longer be offered in that finish..

can i join? i should have mine in 2-6 weeks =D just ordered it though NO OFFENCE INTENDED but i know far too many people who use this with just the front Pup or run it stereo for volume and have the front Pup domination and they are all metal players, don't know if its connected or anything

N:B i really wish the front Pick up (the model one style will power, the woofer) was still the same colour as the pick guard

Another happy Attitude user here!!

I love these bass's I've got a black ATT LTD II complete with Bones skull sticker and Billy's autograph on the back of the headstock from a clinic when I was fortunate enough to meet the man! (Pics to follow I'm at work at the moment...)

I'm currently running it through a Fractal Audio Axe-Fx Ultra in stereo with 2 completely seperate signal chains and it sounds awesome. They're pricey pieces of kit but compared to buying 2xSVT4's, 2x8x10's, pearce preamp, ashley compressors etc... It's a bargain and being just a 2u rack unit and a pair of full range monitors I don't break my back and can get it in the back of the car :-)
I'd love to get one of the original blue Attitudes but I'll never get rid of the black one. Hmmm someday availability of funds and availability of a bass will coincide hopefully...

I just got my Attitude Standard 5 back from the tech today after being modded:

I had him put in an Aguilar OBP-2 (vol/vol stack), Nordstrand Big Splits, and a GraphTech nut. It's also got Hipshot Ultralites. So far so good, but I won't comment on the sound until after the honeymoon.

I am not absolutely sure, but if I am not wrong, that looks like an "Attitude Special" bass. Still a Sheehan signature bass, but definitely not the LTD-II (the flagship signature model he uses). Also, it appears that someone has replaced the knobs on the bass. For comparison, you can check out jschwalls photo of his Attitude basses on pg 2 or the previous page. The green one looks pretty much like what you have in your photos.

Anyway, I have a SFG LTD-II, and it's really amazing. I regret that I will probably never be able to exploit its full sonic potential with a stereo rig, but even in mono, the sound is awesome. And to me, the woofer is a great part of that. Still, this is a bass where it doesn't take much tweaking to sound good. It IS a fairly physical instrument to me though, with neck dive, heavy weight, jumbo frets and a chunky neck, but somehow...it just works.

Only thing is that I've been tempted to try flatwounds on it to see if it can get the classic P-bass thump, but given that the bass was voiced more as an aggressive and updated Precision...I have my doubts...

Hey Chansey thanks for the info. It makes more sense now, I did a couple of searches and confirmed that the bass was indeed an Attitude Special.

Although, the bass in the photo seems to have a vol/tone/tone control knobs. (Maybe taken from a strat?)

Hey people, help me out because I'm curious... every time I read about the Attitude II, they make a point of the neck being "big", "thick", "Chunky", "huge" etc.

What's the neck really like? C or D shaped? small/large radius? Thicker than a p-bass/baseball bat/tree trunk?

I've never seen an Attitude II in a store around here, so I can't just go and check it out (out of curiosity). :)

The radius on the LTD II is 10". It has a more C-shaped profile (I'd consider the profile of the neck on my Warwick a D-shape).

OMG!! Took my Attitude MK I to a music store here in Gothenburg to have a little work done on my headstock. The guitar tech looked at the scallops are asked if they were there to emulate a sitar :O

I would say the 'chunkyness' as in thickness/depth etc is no more than a lot of other basses, it's just the width at the nut end that throws a lot of people. The nut width is the same as on my 5 string Warwick Thumb! So considerably wider if you're used to teeny tiny J bass or Ibanez necks.

I actually find the wider string spacing helps my fretting hand, forcing the hand to be more open and prevents it from seizing up as it sometimes can when you're locked into on position.

I own a blue attitude limited made in taiwan, I have owned 3 all blue limiteds I do not remember if they were all made in taiwan or if they were japan. any info would be awesome. Love my attitude recently looked at an II and the neck felt different than the attitudes i have owned. I am building a custom bass with all the mods I have made to my basses over the 15 years of bars and touring, alot came from the attitude. let me know what u think

I've posted my first comments on my Ltd II a few months ago and also mentioned a custom that was already sold.. WELL, it wasn't! So now i own 2 attitudes!
I use the ltd II as a main bass, the custom is my backup and slap bass (the neck PU is under the pickcover).
The neck of the custom should be the same as the ltd but it feels a bit slower. This probably has something to do with the finish and the fact that it's 17 years older.
I'm going to sell my Ibanez DWB and will stick to the attitudes only from now on!!
The Attitude for president...:confused:

can i get a number?

I have a Newer Attitude II in lava red with coloured neck pickup and both Pups are will powers,

yamaha had none when i ordered and the guys at my music store really helped, i got to talk to the build team at yamaha! i told them the things i wanted and they did it!

They offered differnt colours, other scallop depths, other colour fret markers.

(my one is Lava Red, Colour neck will power pickup has black (standard colour) fret markers and a first fret marker to match the other)

=D
