Yamaha Club Part II

My second bass and first Yamaha (bb614). I've had it for 3 days now and I love it!

Wow those are some nice looking basses. ^_^

I have some pics of my RBX200 'project' I suppose you could call it. I wasn't able to take pics when I first got it in before it got cleaned but here are the auction pics (and these pics do not do justice on how bad it really was):

And here it is now cleaned and waiting on the wiring kit from StewMac:

There were really no surprises on its condition save for the gouge on the fretboard you see here,

And the top layer of the body trashed around the jack here. Oh and check out that bridge. It cleaned up super I though:

I really need to track down a set of factory knobs for it and a truss rod cover. Any ideas where I could look? And yea its got some mojo on it but thats ok. ^_^

The kit from StewMac came in, its been rewired and sounds suweeet. ^_^ Definitely a keeper here. This bass has a very nice natural bass sound to it and feels really nice.

I ran its serial # through Yamaha and it came back September 29th, '68, '78, '88, '98, '08. I am assuming its an '88? I have no idea when the RBX200 series started and how long it ran. Anyone know?
