It's a wide neck, no lying about that. The width of it is fairly thin so it's easy on your hands.
I'm not sure about the newer models though, I'd guess that they would have the same specifications as mine, but you never know.

Here was my wall hanger investmen t. I ended up selling it because I decided I want to own basses I can play (was mint, unplayed)

I was the same way about playing it, but then i just started playing it and it has to be my fav bass...

It's a Japanese-built one, with the tall and narrow pickups, not the later "soapbar" models. I'll get some photos up later on, just have to give it some tender loving care, first!

been waiting for someone to say what the?
it's an old schaller bug pickup that was inside one of my old acoustics. it's my super dodgy version of what seth horan did to his custom shop warwick. if i tap the body over it, i get a little doorknock sound, but the cool part is the little bit of extra "wood" it gives me.

However, can someone please explain me the electronics? I've got what I believe is the 2-band eq with variable frequency point and mid cut/boost options. And there's the three way switch...
What exactly does these do, and how do you adjust them most effectively? I just don't want to start adjusting stuff and then be unable to get back to where I was!
So... if anyone has these data avaiable, I'd appreciate it!

From what I remember Yamaha's site has the schematics, parts list, and manuals for every bass they make.

Wow MrWalker I had to call home and make sure my bass was still in its case. Nice find. Did your bass get any interesting nicknames? My friends either call mine the landing strip or the aircraft carrier.
I'll check on the knobs when I get home. I thought the 3 way switch was a pickup selector switch, but I heard it was some kind of active/passive switch.
