If the bass you're GAS'ing after is actually an SA75, I'd say $550 is an extremely excellent price for what looks to be a 'deluxe' version of the SA70!

You think so? Hey thanks. I am not familiar with pricing of these old basses. I'll take another trip tomorrow to test it out. What were the reviews like for these SA series, do you know? This one is a beaut, I dont care how it sounds. ;)

My Yamaha BB200, no idea on when it was made.

Paid 100 bucks for it, best 100 bucks I've ever spent. This right now is my favorite of my two basses (got a Ibanez GSR190 too).

Added a few stickers, also yeah, it's 3 string at the moment cause I can't really afford a set of Flatwounds I want right now haha.

Oh yeah, totally custom painted pickup covers. Well, spray paint.

I don't know about reviews, but I owned an SA70 until very recently and it was very cool, in an old school sort of way! Very "hofner-esque" in my opinion.

Wow, I don't know how you can play without the high G string. I use mine constantly.

I even re-cut the nut on my Yamaha BBN5 so I could have the 5th string as a high string, instead of the low-B that they come with stock. That gives me the ability to play all those baritone parts that Robert Smith plays on a Fender Bass VI.

yeah... I've recently been playing something that I kind of want/need the G string..

soon I will get a set of flatwounds.. I need that string!!

hey guys,

Ive been working all summer to scrape together some cash to buy a new bass and ive narrowed it down to 2 basses. A Yamaha trb1005 and a Lakland 55-01. I would like to get a kinda parliment sound out of it or more like the tone of the meters. Im leaning more towards the Yamaha but do you think it could pull off these sounds? Thanks
