This has most likely been covered but the body wood in these TRB I and II's is ash yes? I think the way the finishes are done really do a nice job of showing the grain of the wood!
I am still loving the sound of mine. Currently going through bass, MXR-80, Hartke LH500 then a Hartke 4x10 and 1x15. I use the MXR with clean channel and 1x15 for acoustic duo stuff then the whole rig for metal originals (with the gain circuit engaged on the MXR). It's my sound and I am loving it!

I remember owning a TRB 6 back in the 90's. That is a serious neck but a beautiful bass! Good score.
Nice! I've always wanted to pick up a blue TRB6P to compliment my red burst...perhaps tear the frets out of one of them 
After this weekends gigs I feel good jumping in as a TRB fan.
Recent acquired via trade +cash to me. Liked it enough I swapped out bridge and tuners to black hipshots. Kind of stealth... definitely swanky.

This thread kills me! I'm GASing a TRB1005 for a long, long time! Wish I had one to join the club! If I ever get a 5er, it'll be a TRB1005 (the trans black one)

I am surprised anyone would swap out the solid brass bridge that is stock on the TRB-5.
I put a brass Hipshot back on, not the cheaper aluminum one.
I'm personally not real fond of gold hardware. It was fine before... I like it a lot better now.

actually the TRB (4,5,and6) II were made with humbucking pick ups, the TRB's 4,5,and6 were made with single coils, and they have the slap cut.
I still own two TRb's and have owned other 3, and this is the first TRB with the slap cut that I see that has humbucking pu's!
It was not gold hardware, it was brass hardware. I don't like gold hardware either but the brass on the TRB's is the best hardware I have ever seen on any bass. IMO the Hipshot stuff is a dramatic step down in quality.
Sincerely sorry if the change or my visual preference offends you. I'm happy with it both visually and sonically now.
No clue. The TRB's are entirely new to me. Up until this one arrived I'd not played one, but had always loved their tone. This one has the 3-position mids knob. SN: 4J22055
