Hey guys. Just looking for some advice.
I have a TRB-5 that I LOVE but I have an opportunity to get a TRB5II for a fair price. Should I bother? I'm most curious about the 35" scale. Big difference? Thanks.
Oh also, does anyone have a black 1005 they're looking to sell? I can't find a black one to save my life!

I have also a question for all TRB owners out there.
I've found an lefthanded TRB1005 for sale for a great price, But I wonder how thick is the neck? Does it have similiar neckshape like a Yamaha BB? I own a BB1600 and can handel the neck.
I've never played a 5-stringed or 35" scale bass before so that's scares me a bit too.

TRB 5 strings are hard enough to find as is let alone a lefty one! If I were a lefty looking for an awesome bass, I would absolutely by that thing. You won't regret it!
I have both a 34" and 35" TRBs. I like my first gen 34" TRB much more. I'm a little clumsy on the 35" one. But I'm sure it's something you'll get use to in no time. This bass is well worth the learning curve!

IMO there's a HUGE difference between my TRB1005 and my other basses (Fender Geddy Lee for example) because of the scale and neck size. It takes some getting used to. The TRB1005 was my first 5 string and 35" scale. I do enjoy the barky tone I can get from it though. It can also be fairly articulate on the high end... not-so-much on the E and the B though. It's tough to find left handed basses in general but if you found one you can get a a decent price and are ready to really commit to adjusting to the neck and scale then you should go for it... after all, it's only money.

The special trick is that I mounted the pickups upside down... that's because only one of the 2 coils in each PU has a magnet (the other one is a dummy coil for hum cancelation). And on the TRB100x series, the coils with the magnet are at the neck side. So, I effectively moved my pickups appr. 1 inch towards the bridge, which is more similar to the TRBJP2 pickup placement. The result is a more defined, tighter sound.

That's interesting.
Yeh, I vaguely recall the same problem with my previous (brand-new) TRB5P, so maybe the pickups are pretty sensitive to string heights, or the magnet strength is a bit weak at the B string end. Either way, if you have a fairly flat action and use full-wrap strings, the low B sits further away from the pickup, so ends up quieter than the E or A.

Hey guys I have quick question - where exactly are you all purchasing these basses? I'm looking to buying a 5 or 6 string TRB, but I can't find them anywhere. Are there any places online that sell them?
Can anyone recommend a good quality stand for a TRB-6P? My Hercules stand is just barely too narrow!
They seem like great stands, but I can't find any specs about the width of the neck brace area. Do you have one? Would you be able to measure it for me?

@chanson I use the hersulese mini guitar/bass stand (the one that sits in the floor and the bass sits on top) for my TRBJP (6string) and it has been working like a champ for 4-5 years now, and it's small and easliy stuffed in a backpack.
