Found this on the Minneapolis Craigslist today. Dude does not seem to be lacking in confidence...
I am one of the few, the proud, the real bass players. I refuse to pretend and I play loudly. I can improvise easily to any song. I'll play any bassline on the radio. I play exactly like John Entwistle and Geezer Butler; I learn every song to a tee, with no gaps inbetween notes. I've been playing the bass since age 12. I've played in an advanced jazz band, a death metal band, and an alternative rock band.
Right now, I'm sitting on the bench watching posers dance in front of innocent kids and waiting for geriatric bass players saving for their retirement fund and yacht license to stop. Is air bass guitar that impressive? Is this what Minnesota likes?
Does your band have a REAL bass player? I've seen you other Minnesotan bassists perform, and I haven't heard any good basslines. You Minnesota bassists are awful, leaving your mids unscooped, and always playing with guitar picks; they're called guitar picks, not bass picks; you're better off picking your poopie-ass out with one. Get a clue!
Find a real bass guitarist like me; Is music important to you? If not, have fun frying in the heat at your boring, lame concerts, and whiffing farts at your protestant church band performance.
Don't be tentative to bring me into your band, and don't put music on the backburner. Email me if you're a true Rock n' Roller,
B.G.
