I actually only have 2 pedals...the Bass Big Muff Pi and the TC Electronics Mojo Mojo Overdrive (snapped that one up on sale, and by perfect chance, our band name had changed to Mondo Mojo about 3 weeks before that)

Probably octave (EBS Octabass currently) and my Broughton HPF/LPF. I like having a compressor pedal, but I could use the one-knob compressor on my Reidmar 750, which is actually pretty nice.

And I use very little overdrive, so the drive knob could cover those duties in lieu of a pedal.

OR

If the Broughton gets a "free pass" like a tuner pedal, then I'd say octave and compressor (Providence Bass Boot Comp currently).

2nd pedal depends on the gig. Usually an octave (currently an OC-5).

Do you need two? Or want two? If so, what are they?

Presently for me it's an Analogman Juicer (always) and a SUF Black Russian (for just a few parts). Plus buffer/tuner.

I’d have two of the most expensive Kemper multi effects units they make. Then I’d sell them both on Reverb and use the proceeds to buy a really good bass. I’d take that bass and plug direct into my preamp pedal. That would be a good day.

(elaborate way of saying I don’t really need two extra pedals, but I always need a new bass)

Until recently, all I'd needed was a Boss BC-1X compressor and an MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe, so I'll go with that.

And because I know you're curious, I added a Boss OC-2 octave and an MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe.
