Seriously, a good headphone amp really helps with improving skill. I noticed that when I connected the metronome to the headphone amp, it did wonders to my ability to keep time. Even my music teacher noticed it after a week. It does clutter up my place even more though. To the point that my 1 year old is now playing bongo on the instruments / sound devices and using patch cables as whips on my dogs. LOL

My WTX264 and Eden 1x10 serve as my practice combo, and I run my Sennheiser 650 open headphones to the headphone jack. They are made for studio and hifi listening, have great bass response and a really long cord.

But those little Vox boxes that plug right into the jack are cool if you want to take your bass to the park and practice in peace. I got my son one for his guitar, though he prefers headphones to his practice amp at home. Lots of ways to solve this one :)

I had four Acoustic Control bass stacks at one point. Plus a bunch of other Acoustic Control amplification and PA gear. It just turned up when I was looking for something specific. I wasn't out to collect that stuff, but managed to do it anyway. I'm now down to one vintage stack, an Acoustic USA stack, a guitar amp, a power amp, two PA speakers, and a powered board. Oh, plus non Acoustic Control amps and other equipment, but that doesn't count, does it? It couldn't be a problem, could it? I can sell it all off whenever I want...

We can all sell it all off whenever..... LOL And another item is added to the long list of gear. And somehow, someway, that's how relationship with your significant other seems to deteriorate. But hey it's just music instrument. My father ruined his relationship to the entire family when he started collecting cars. Just think of how much space and money that junk takes up.
