You do not have GAS until you.......

Fortunately (or unfortunately), the lady of the house has a strict "one in, one out" policy with respect to music equipment. Keeps the GAS at bay!

My father (a wretched, filthy peasant guitarist) on the other hand, keeps every dang piece of gear he comes across. Strats, Marshalls, Les Pauls, Fender Twins, pedals, whatever. Every bed in his house has 6 or 7 guitars in cases underneath it haha

The key is to spread gear around, it helps give the impression that there is less than there really is.

I'm perfectly happy with just this.

I believe this man had more GAS than anyone. He collected (among others, obviously) knock-off Hofner violin basses...especially Asian made ones. As he said, "the crappier the better!"

That's Big Al!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When he passed they stopped counting the basses at 300. He also collected guitars and Mandolins.
I think that is how many you would need to hang with Warren Haynes and Dickey Betts (playing on either side of you!):bassist:

Having an odd number of amps is not good. It has to be an even number.

Preferably, according to Feng Shui and Joanna sacred angel numbers, repeating numbers is always a good sign. Just think the smallest repeating number is 00, which signifies infinite. But that's too much even for the GAS annon club members. So the next would be 11. 11 is the minimum number of any gear.

TB as a whole is mostly a group of enablers for GAS haha. If I'm ever unsure about whether or not I need more gear, I come to TB, see that plenty of people on the internet have twice the amount of [basses/amps/cabs/pedals] that I have, and then I feel a whole lot better about buying another one.

Like just now. I came here after reading replies to my thread where everybody told me I need another cab. Well I mean everybody here has more than one cab, so I guess I can get another one... And so the cycle of GAS continues...

Or I just count that DHA pedal that doubles as a headphone amp

Technically yes beause it's the reasonable thing to do, but that's what women do when they buy groceries. They call that shopping. When they go get their favorite handbag, they go shopping shopping and buy two of each. My friend, you need to go shopping shopping and get another amp to enrich your soul.

I've heard of amps that go to 11. Maybe that's why.
