You know you're obsessed with bass when...

You try asking Brad Johnson to adopt you.

When you try scouring through your family tree to find Jaco.

For one of my senior English classes this year, we were supposed to make masks...(yeah that's what I thought too), so I just stuck a printed off picture of Jaco's face on a plate. :smug:

When you have a rare night off on a Saturday, and you plan tou use it to go and watch a live band...... that's apparently like going to the office on your day off but hey, I'm doing it anyway!

My wife will never understand this one. She's like "you spend every weekend playing in a bar, why do you want to spend your night off in another bar?" She may never understand, oh well.

Or how about when you set up a system in your car, amps, subs... for the sole purpose of hearing the bass lines better?

When you plan your vacations around which other TBers you could meet there.

When you check your messages every hour to see if it's the post office saying your new amp has arrived.

When you wake up and play your bass before eating breakfast or brushing your teeth, more than twice a week.

If you're willing to spend an extra $200/month in rent just to have a "studio room" (thinking about this one)

When either a combination of or just a single item of bass equipment is worth more than your car. My car is worth roughly $500 now & you can check my profile to see the gear that i've got.

When you work a job at the mall and give private lessons to fund more gear purchases [looking at a Englehardt S1 right now].

When you recognize the guitars/basses by headstock. Thats all for now.

Guilty as charged! I figure I spend more time listening to music in the car than anywhere else, so that's where I want the best sound. But I'm a nut so ignor me....... I even ran a lead to the boot of my car so that I can use my 2x10 bass cab as a car sub when touring.

When you buy a vehicle around your bass (my '99 explorer was the one that fit my upright the best)!

When you can't wait to do excercises with names like "Vomit" and "Bloody Thumb".

when i started going out with this girl freshmen year, i started talking to her online cause she lived in a diffent town(i had no car) .she was my best freinds girl freind at the time and i started a game ,i can ask any thing and u can ask any thing but u have to tell the truth. well one of the things she asked was what is the weirdist thing u used to pleasure ur self. so i ened up asking the same thing and she said she used the upper horn of her ibanze sound gear bass.

I was at the beach once and someone called out "stingray" because there was a real life stinger not far away. There I was looking around the beach for someone playing a music man....I'm obsessed....

This one's my favorite. :D

You know you're obsessed with bass when you're eating lunch in a park on a hot summer day, like today, and your friend says, "Oh man, look at that woman over there, I can see right through her dress! I can ever see her G string!"

And you response is, "What gauge is it?" :p

Mike
