You opened for WHOM???

Well, I did a little research and yes, that is the cat that I'm playing with this evening:

While celebrating his 41st birthday in September 1976, Lewis began playing with a .357 Magnum, which he later stated he thought was unloaded. Pointing it at his bass player, Butch Owens, he pulled the trigger. The gun was loaded and Lewis shot Owens in the chest. Owens miraculously survived.

Yeah you ain't kidding.... :smug:

Last night's gig wasn't at all enjoyable! Man, I HATE DRUMMERS THAT DROP TEMPO!!!!!!! Buy a f-ing metronome!

These cats were all in their 50's-60's and have been playing longer than I have been on the earth. I just don't understand some cat's time-issues!

In the early 80's I played bass for a country singer named Con Hunley. We opened up for Merle Haggard, George Jones, Alabama, countless dates with the Oak Ridge Boys, Emmylou Harris, Mel Tillis, the Gatlin Brothers...
as an older fellow- I have opened up for Eric Johnson- the funny thing was that all the above were nice helpful people, they apparently remembered what it was like at the low end of the totem pole.JS

I'm really amaized when you do meet a legend that turns out to be so friendly and kind.
Muddy Waters was that way.Just the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.Shared his beer and food, showed his guitar to us and joked all evening.

Then there's the jerks like Johnny Winters who made everyone leave the backstage area before he would enter the building.

Such a wide variety of talent on these pages. So far, we've only played with local and regional groups, with only a couple of exceptions.

Last July, we opened for ApologetiX, a Christian parody band which is fairly well known all over the world. www.apologetix.com

On the 14th, we open for Radial Angel, another Christian act chugging along with some decent radio play.

Hopefully, we'll do bigger and better as we continue to grow as a band.

Back in '83, my band opened for ANVIL (a Canadian metal band) at our high school. Very cool guys. They let us share their dressing room, talked alot, watched us play, and even came to our house party afterwards. I thought they were defunct, but found them on the net, still putting out records and gigging (they were always bigger in Europe than North America).
