Yes I know this is a really farking old thread. I just had something that seemed appropriate, so I am resurrecting it. Arise from the DEAD.


I just opened up for Jerrod today. As in Jerrod from those annoying Subway commercials. I played at an event that eveidently had Subway as a sponsor, and they trotted him out to make a speech after we were done. Jerrod approached a woman who had come to see us play after he speechified for a bit and asked if she wanted an autograph. She said sure, then turned around and asked if he wanted her autograph after that. That amuses me. I do beleive that Jerrod's 15 minutes are up.

well...some canadians might know this guy, but we were headliners at a show and Ryan Malcolm's (CanIdol) band, Low Level Flight, actually opened for us!

My band opened for the Pete Best band a couple years back when he played at a local venue we are regulars at...
he was a real down to earth guy...we took pics with him and the band..he signed the flyer with both of our names on it..and signed copies of their set lists for us...really cool time...and great thing to put on paper when we try to get gigs..opened for a Beatle...lol

two different bands that i was in opened for spoken...
i just remember (because a lot of the first band was also in the second band... just a different guitarist and drummer) that they remembered us several months later even though they'd been on tour the whole time.
and then there was also The Honour Recital and Hit The Lights (they were still pretty small then... not "we want to be fallout boy" yet)

The band that I have been with since 2003, Jamestown Massacre, has opened for the Buckinghams, the Ides of March, the Shadows of Knight, etc. here in the Chicago area,

My favorite opening act story happened to a friend of mine back in about 1967. Dann Florek, who makes his living as an actor and appears regularly on Law and Order, Special Victims Unit, among other things, had a band called a Clockwork Orange in the late sixties. They got booked to play a small venue in Ann Arbor, Michigan and they were told they were opening for some new band from England. They stuck around after their set to hear this new band; three guys with frizzy hair: Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell and another guy on guitar from Seattle, not England!!!!!!
