That's pretty much my case, only substitute fretted Mike Lull 5 for the 'Ray. (Although I do have one of those ... I just find it a little on the heavy side.)

The three I have Stingray and P bass, and upright. I used to have both a fretless - it was cool to have, but whatever. I have an upright. I will never purchase a five string (famous last words).

Is the 59 a refin?

For professional studio work one needs (IMHO) a passive precision and an active jazz bass 5 string. In my case both the p and j are 5 strings. These will get 95% of situations covered. The third bass could be a fretless bass or even better an upright. Or possible a P bass with Flats.

Is the 59 a refin?

Yes, full restoration. The color is more faded in real life... somehow pictures always make it more intense. It is a more faded salmon pink

If I had to choose out of my basses, I'd choose my Ric, my sr800 which is an active P/J, and my Peavey grind for the dual humbucker thing.
