Your past Bass is the reason ya have your present bass.
There aren’t many but I once owned a Fender American P-bass deluxe 5 string - quite rare these days. I didn’t appreciate it when I had it and honestly, I still think I’d find it too big and bulky for what I do these days. But I sure wish I still had it.
Should've kept this one.
You don't see them here in the USA on Reverb too often.

A long time ago in a galaxy far away
I bought a 1970 fretless P bass for 50.00 from a guy at a car wash I was working at.
At the time I didn't know what a P bass was , I knew about Fenders though. I took it home after work , plugged it in to my plastic amp with an 8 inch speaker , and barely heard anything.
I didn't know much about Bass guitars yet.
The next day I took it to a guitar shop to see if i could get it fixed , they told me it would cost alot more than I could afford , so I sold it to them for 100.00 .
Yeah well , I made 50 more than I paid for it
Today a 70 fretless P bass can possibly go for up to 5,000.00 or more

I really want this one...$1,500...but I'm a little worried about the crack in the wenge pickguard.
This crack in the pickguard is very easy to repair with a few drops of super glue.
I think I'd take a crack at it, but I'd hate you see it get worse due to being mishandled during shipping.
I would ask the seller to put a piece of masking tape over it to secure it in place.
As long as you have all the pieces, it’s an easy repair.
The bass has to be priced accordingly though.

Maybe my 1st Fender P bass. I had a Fender jazz I sold & regretted it. 15 years later I found a identical one in mint condition, GC sent it to me. Took it to my next gig, played 1 set & swapped back to my Sterling Ray4. I remembered why I sold the jazz in the 1st place. Jazz went back to GC the next Monday,
After 50 years of playing, what bass haven't I had? Kidding aside, I don't think I could remember. Most memorable was a '63 all original Shoreline Gold Jazz. In the 80's I sold it like an idiot.
Nothing wrong with that.
I would probably need several houses though. I have probably owned over 500 guitars and basses over my lifetime. Down to about 35 or so now I think.
So one house.
