Your Christmas (bass) Wishlist

My biggest wish (although itll never happen) would be a Dingwall or a mint condition Cort Curbow . I know they are worlds apart in price but Im not greedy lol , and to be fair any Dingwall would suffice .

I was getting ready to write that I want Santa to bring me a Dingwall too. I've only played 3 or 4 of them but each one felt instantly right and you could tell that they would be satisfying long term. I'm going to visit Sheldon at NAMM in a few weeks and I might just decide to oull the trigger. If I'm going to do that I'll have to sell one of my Warwicks to make room in my closet.

All I want for Christmas is my 2 fron.................. No wrong thread. I have most everything I need. Now, what I want is everything I don't have. And since they always make more and new, I'll never catch up. Seriously, I would really like to have a nice Gibson EB-1 50's build. That would make my day.

It's a tough time of year- so much shopping to do yet it seems like every music store has the best sales and the biggest inventory. What is at the top of your wish list this year? I decided to "pass my GAS" & went with lessons, & a subscription to Jon Liebman's website.
The best decision of all.

New Rig:
DNA 1350 Head
2- DNA 410 cabs

Because I feel like getting back into playing metal. And I just might need something that will keep the 6-string-slingers in check!

New Bass?
I wasn't GAS'ing for much... then I saw somebody's Bongo 4HH in Starry Night. That got the GAS going like a can of refried beans. :cautious:

Then I saw THIS on Bass Central:

Then I saw THIS over at The Bass Place with the price cut down to about $900!

All that ON TOP of the Sire M7 5-string in Brown Sunburst that I want! GAH!!!!! :wideyed:

I tell you-- this is NOT a good time of year to keep the GAS under control!

Silly extravagance that I won't actually get: NS design radius fretless 5 string, holy crap, it's pretty much the perfect fretless, yet I don't need one.

Thing I will actually have soon: Phil Jones Bass Cub. I need to replace my practice amp, time to step up. They're so freaking awesome for the size, yes there are other nice combos at that price but I like the Phil Jones punch. I look forward to using its DI and miking it for recording too.

Daunting, expensive, but ultimately rewarding project, really more of a New Years resolution : Fearful 12/6 cab with tweeter. I don't have a good enough shop to cut wood square enough, so I'm going to buy the flat pack and all the parts. $600 to have the pleasure of getting PL glue stuck to my arm hair, but it's always rewarding once it's done. Heck, maybe i'll spring for longer gloves this time.

Merry GASmas!

A few things, as usual. But the aim of these things is to suppress any other GAS.

1. A custom Lakland 44-dual J Sonic, piano black, ebony board with birdseye maple block inlay and ultrailites with the Xtender key.

2. Barefaced Six 10 cab. (using my Darkglass 900)

3. Broughton Audio HPF/LPF pedal.

I honestly and genuinely was convinced I'd cured my GAS when I got my Precision ... and then Lee Sklar goes and announces a signature Warwick StarBass !

Other than that, I could do with something to replace my Ampeg pf500 to run my Ampeg BXT115 cab.

Ohh, and a modicum of skill would be nice.

I'm not picky in the slightest. My christmas bass wish would be one that works well lol. I love my EDC700 that I've had almost 2 decades now. But at this point it needs a lot of work and some of it I'm not sure how well that material will hold up to a lot of work (needs completely new pickups, pre-amp, tuners, pots, input jack {current one is rigged in there as original crapped out month 1-2 of owning it}, and probably bridge too lol). I mean it works if I stand just right with my mouth open just right (just like fishing, hmmm bass). But if I had to just go out and say I want this and can get it....
1. My USA Cirrus to go from MIA to just IA (miss that thing)
2. Sire M7
3. Dingwall (anything really)
4. EBMM Bongo
5. Fodera YinYang
6. Fender MM Jazz (played one at a GC 7-8 years ago, that thing was killer)

... I need to stop I could just fill up a page doing this lol. Congrats to any/all of you who do get some bass related things for Christmas/holidays/birthday/anyreason.

After spending and loosing a massive amount of money the past few years on basses and preamps, I finally have the tone I've been trying to achieve for decades it seems. So, just another fEARful cabinet in the event I need to play Wembley Stadium with no FOH support :roflmao:
