Your Christmas presents to you

This guy right here

Here's my Xmas gift to myself, I've been dreaming about this amp for 3 years

It's a 50W tube amp, hand-made, and it only weights 4.2 Kg, but it has all the "heft" and "slam" you could expect for a tube amp. Completely silent (no fan, no hum or hiss). The controls allow for many different usable tones, from smooth&warm to "in your face", clean to dirt… (a rare quality for tube amps IMO)

Congrats! Quite a work of art, and I can imagine it sounds great. I bought an Ampeg PF-50T used a few months ago. I love it, except it has a very bad hum to it. A TBer posted that there is a free "humbuster" fix for that. I actually got called back by the tech today, and he said it sounds much better. Relieved to hear that, as I practice mostly at low volume, and the hum was driving me nuts. One on of the reasons I just bought a Mesa D-50.

Funny You should ask... I'm actually shipping these off to be cut into bodies for my next two builds, tomorrow. I should have them back by late January, and have them in playable form by May, 2024. The one on the left is gonna be a "J" body, and the one on the right will be a "P" body. The bookmatched, spalted maple tops were an early gift from my GF, as She thought that these things happen easily/quickly. Bless her. Neither will be in a "standard" configuration. But... yeah... She KNOWS Her wood.

Peace, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Be well,

Marc

[edit] Heck, the "J" almost even looks like Santa with a booger...

No bass or amp for me this year. I did set out on Black Friday to purchase a new Macbook Pro. After searching the entire weekend and finding no sales on machines spec'd the way I wanted, I had an idea. I grabbed my old iPad and tested to see if it would connect to my external SSD drives. Yup! Next test, my Presonus interface into Garage Band. Yup!. Into Logic Pro? Yup!

So I got a new M1 iPad Pro with 1TB of memory, and Apple iPad keyboard with trackpad. It's doing everything I've asked and more......... and I got it at 65% off. Been recording for a few days now and with over 60 tracks in my first composition I have not been able to run it out of resources. With Affinity Photo it handles all of my artistic needs. Has cellular connectivity too.

I've owned iPads since they first released, but this is the first time I am using one as my main machine. Fingers crossed that my experience continues to be this good. I'll definitely keep my old i7 Mac around in case I run into snags.
