I have that same setup, fit a pedal tuner, wireless receiver, Tetra light controller and Sub N Up pedal on it. Very handy to have all ready, plug and go.

I have that same setup, fit a pedal tuner, wireless receiver, Tetra light controller and Sub N Up pedal on it. Very handy to have all ready, plug and go.
I don't have a problem and I can stop anytime. Is what I tell myself.
I didn't get the Aerodine deal, and I nearly pulled the trigger on the sunburst J, but the price went back up and I was relieved. Then I bought these 3 basses in a row.
1st up was a Squier late 50s P on BF sale from Fender direct for $280.
Next, Amazon had that Vintera blow out. I would have got that 50s P if I hadn't just bought one, but after sleeping on it I had to pull the trigger on the $580 60s Jazz
I have long wanted a Mustang, just for fun, and so I completed the trifecta by getting the Vintera 60s Mustang from Adorama. (This deal is still available, btw, $649). This one arrived last night and I have been toying with it. I don't think I "needed" it, but I do think I will get a lot of enjoyment out of it!
I have already recorded with the P and it sounds fantastic. I took the J to band practice and my whole band commented on how good it sounded - it may be challenging my EBMM Sterling for the top spot. All three of the instruments play amazing, the Squier right out of the box and the Fenders with some basic set up. And the gold is really growing on me!
I have a theory that Fender blew out the Vintera line for the same reason that they introduced the Vintera 2 line at a premium - nobody cares for the Pao Ferro. TBH on arrival the fingerboard on these bases looked like every other Pao Ferro bass I have seen in the wild - light and "dusty" looking, and generally underwhelming. BUT, I hit the J bass with Howard's and after soaking some up it looks dark, rich and beautiful. In this picture you can compare the oiled jazz with the not yet oiled mustang - all this wood needs is oil to look great! If my theory is right and this is why we got these bases at a steep discount - then I can say best.compromise.ever.
I never owned a Fender in my first 20 some odd years of bass playing. Looks like I am making up this in my golden years
Btw, final cost for all 3 of these (w/5% cash back) was $1434, so about the cost of an average good bass. The only real consequence I have to deal with is figuring out where to keep them all!
These were not specifically for "Christmas" - but I always keep my eyes open for significant bargains this season. I got a lot of great vinyl albums for little $ as well - but that's another post!

Since I have several guitars but no guitar amp or effects I bought a Positive Grid Spark 40.
2000 Dodge Roadtrek Popular 190. 8500 pounds, ready to roll once the temp comes up above the 40s. Meantime cleaning up, checked and all systems work. Adding a 24" TV with antenna and streaming capability. My wife and I have been talking about it for a while, and found one we like that's in good shape.

Good for awhile? I always think I will be, but my GAS just won't shut up!
I have an old Warwick STD 5 string ('99 I think), needs some work and TLC (replace the nut, a broken pot, replace bridge, it's the 1 piece prone to lifting, a refinish from brown to trans black). It's currently with "my guy"...it may be more of a Bday present (end of Jan)...we'll see!
It's this model, mine is a German, NOT the Rockbass version, the truss cover says STD 5 (bad choice of acronym!). Sports an Aguilar pre (added aftermarket), sounds incredible, looking to make it my main bass for my 5 string use. Will post before and afters...

Spent all my christmas bonus on a new couch and chairs for the family living room

Just bought a new floor tom for the missuz and a Boss CS-3 for myself. Sure, I'll call that a Christmas present ... until my next order before 12/25 ...
I took apart one of my parts basses and sold off the neck…which I then used to fund this. The surf green Guitar Center exclusive finish squier sonic precision. Some of the other divorced parts made it onto this bass.
