I've been on a long quest to find 'the one,' and have owned dozens of P basses over the years. Right now I'm pretty smitten with this one, a Fender AVRI '62 P bass in vintage white (looks much less yellow in person than in the photos). It's a bit basic in appearance but it checks many boxes for me: vintage styling, nitro finish, dark rosewood fretboard, made in USA, visible fretboard dots, light weight. There are likely many that fit into these buckets, but I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea of having a meat and potatoes, workhorse P bass as my #1.
