I built a P-Bird. It is an ash body, P pickups, P neck, but Thunderbird shape and ergos. Perfect for when I need a standard Precision sound.

It is a 70's RI with a Hipshot KickA$$ Bridge, Bass Extender, Brass Nut, EMG GZR. I have another P that has the same hardware/pickup combo and is also great, I would probably add all of the above to any P I got.

I am very happy with my two P-basses, but I were to have a shot at one more, I'd aim for an Olinto P with a block inlaid roasted neck and the cute little buffalo nickel string retainer.

Colour-wise, maybe a Sherwood Green light relic over Candy Apple Red. Y'know, just so I don't worry about the first ding...

Quartersawn compound (9.5 to 16) radius jazz neck, RSD string thru bridge, modern lightweight Fender tuners, contour neck heel, and hand wound vintage pickup. 8.25 pounds. Just curious ... what does a compound radius neck buy for you on a bass?

Probably one of these. The one on the left is a ‘96 Black Label MIM that plays and sounds amazing. It’s has the best recorded sound out of any bass I’ve ever recorded with hands down. The one on the right is my ‘85 MIJ I bought new that has been throughly flogged from years on the road touring and thousands of hours played. It’s not as good sounding as the black one, but it’s got mojo like no other

I acquired a Mike Dirnt Road Worn P bass (not the Squier version) in a trade. I didn’t know I needed this bass. Might be the best sounding bass I’ve ever had. I consistently get compliments on it’s sound. It sits so well in the mix. Currently strung with Rotosound flats.

MIM Geddy neck. Hipshot detuner. Dunlop straplocks. D'Addario EXL170 strings. Plays like butter and brings the articulate thunder... its my #1 gigging bass and will be for a very long time.

Another Squier Matt Freeman to match the one I already own. Modded w/ a Aguilar 4P-60 pickup …and a gold anodized pickguard just because.

Nice!!!! I was going to post about those basses thinking people forgot about them. Never owned one, but I really want one just for kicks (however I would have a very hard time justifying the current prices).

Tbh though I wish I had my 2019 tidepool blue MIM player p. Sold it like an idiot, part of my reason for selling it was because it was "too perfect." Total dummy move

1966 Candy Apple Red Fender Precision w/ block inlay Jazz neck as close to Duck Dunn's as possible.
