So I was thinking earlier about an interesting set of trio bass players, kinda like SMV, but in different genres/style/etc. So I came up with 2 so far, here they are.
The first I would call either No Holds Barred, Fretless Fury, or Freeroaming Frets, that consisted of Jaco Pastorius, Tony Franklin and Jack Bruce, but if i had to make it more of a reality i would probably put Steve Bailey in place of Jaco. But I would have Jaco front it with Tony throwing some of his licks in there while Jack lays down some tight groove.
Next I would have John Entwistle, Steve Harris, and Geddy Lee in one i don't have a name for, but have Geddy set up some good riffs while Entwistle holds groove and does his thing while Steve makes up some insane groove!
And last but not least have Les Claypool, Larry Graham, Flea, Victor Wooten and Ryan Martinie in some trio or all together and i'd call them Slap Happy!
So post whom ever you would have in a trio, what they would do and their name! Go!
