What a coincidence, I was just watching her on the Tonight Show.
She told a pretty interesting little story about Nile Rodgers & how the song Freak Out came from opening night at Studio 54, where he wasn't allowed in.
We had a hand-me-down accordion that no one wanted, so we put it on CL for sale.
This stunning Czech lady came over to check it out & she played & played it before finally buying it.
It was really quite surreal watching & listening to her play it.
She was a champ at playing it as well!
An accordionist without a beer is like a bagpipe player without haggis!(and vaguely juxtaposed to a beard being like a lawn on a bald man)

Not quite an accordion. But the best player I've heard in recent times for that sort of instrument is Sharon Shannon.

But I've got to give a shout out to an acquaintance, Doug 'Legacy' Lacy, who's played with Oingo Boingo, Freebo, Van Dyke Parks and Todd Rundgren, to name a few, and logged some time with the Disneyland Pirate band, The Bootstrappers...

I loved hearing Gypsy Jazz whilst in France. Instead of dominating the music, they tastefully added to the overall sound of the band. Très bien!
Kepa Junkera is one of my favourites accordion players. He starts from the basque traditional music to mix with many other traditions and musical genres, as he does in this song. This video is from 2001, and if you like Game of Thrones, will be able to find the location of Dragonstone (min. 1:02).

ok, I guessed I must of missed it.. So acordion players has what to do with a Bass players forum in what way again ?
