Your Favorite Fuzz - Into Your Synth!

The standalone nature of Reason makes it very handy to use as a 'sketch pad', on a laptop or whatever. You can link it to other programs via Rewire (I think that's what it's called), import MIDI, or use Recycle, but otherwise you can't bring in external tracks. However, it's fairly easy to export Reason MIDI and audio into other programs that are more versatile and/or feature-rich. That's what I usually do.

The Rewire approach might work for you. You can Rewire into Cubase, Protools, Reaper, etc.

i'm actually speaking of controlling an external, hardware synth via midi - though there ought to be a way to implement this. hmmm

using my korg G5 (though its not a key synth, it sounds better than most average digital key synths IMO..) i like putting fuzz both before and after it. moreso before, becuase i can blend in the input signal.. with a clean bass sound blended in is one thing, but adding fuzz can get nasty.

my favorite one before it is definately zvex machine. it adds textures that nothing else will.

depending on the settings, electroniX messdrive (red one) can make it sound pretty massive, you just need to watch the volume- its input volume sensitive, but if you turn it down to lower the gain you get this euphoric state of gritty big-bottom fuzz.. this one works just as good with key synths..
