This is my gas killer. Hands down the best Fender I have owned. And i've had a few (10 to be exact)...

No - this is a 2011 Custom Shop run. I searched the net for months to find one. Really hard to find in North America in my experience. Hoping it might become a rare bird as Mike Eldred mentioned on the Fender Forum that the production on these ceases this month. Although I guess they could always be specifically ordered.
Not everyone's bag, but it does it for me.

I don't believe it was special order. I think they were offered from the Fender CS from 09-11. The one I had was made in 09.

btw, the AmDlx is still for sale - I just put it up a day or two ago
Part of me doesn't want to sell it as I really can't find any flaw in it - other than it isn't a 24-fret Fodera
I don't have much experience with p/j's but I just won a Fender Reggie Hamilton for what I think is a good price on the 'bay. Pretty pumped!

Thanks! It is a great bass! It's a Highway 1 body - buffed to gloss, and a Fender 'Genuine Replacement' neck PLUS the mods listed. I was originally going for a Tony Franklin vibe, and then I met Joinercape and he loaned me his Sadowsky PJ - I've gotten as close as I can... dang close for the $$$... but it is still not a 'real' Sadowsky.

The new Blacktop Double P Jazz bass (MIM) is pretty sick. Might not count as a standard P/J, but I haven't played a sub $1k bass in a shop that I've liked any more than that in a very long time.
This is also giving me GAS, but the Squier I have (which I would like to put Nordstrand NP4/Big Split in) has sentimental value..
Believe it or not, the cost for the Yammie ($300) is just about equal to that of the Nordstrand pickups.. I think I'd prefer the Yamaha, because it's a new bass
and because I find I enjoy the B-string.

the previous owner put a 6-pot pickguard on a 4-pot bass. Don't worry, I will be getting a new pickguard.
