And why do you americans call a pizza a pie? A pizza is a Pizza and a pie is a pie!!!
In Trenton, it's called "tomato pie," not pizza. Although the terms are interchangeable, there is a body of myth and lore attempting to distinguish tomato pie from pizza. The generally accepted explanation is that a tomato pie is built as follows: dough, cheese, toppings, and then sauce.

Do you mean real Sicilian pizza, or what Americans call Sicilian pizza? Not the same thing. What about Sicilian pizza?

There's a place called Sicilian pizza in my home town, but the pizzas from those guys don't seem to be like anything you'd get in Sicily (never visited myself). There, pizza is more like the clam pie posted in this thread, from what I've been told - they often use fish or seafood toppings without much in the way of sauce or cheese. The clam thing looks great, btw.
American-style "Sicilian" pizza isn't really appealing to me - way too thick and stodgy for the dough base.
All pizzas should be super thin crust. Deep pan does not exist.
DISCLAIMER: I work in an Italian restaurant as a pizza chef.
